The more I shave with the Paradigm SE and the more I use the Feather Pro Supers, the smoother the action regarding applying the top cap. Also, I have found that once the top cap is 'in place' on the razor, I grab both sides of the top cap and 'rock' it back an forth slightly (It seems to move slightly). There is slight movement until it 'clicks' into place, then the top cap feels locked in and very secure.

Regarding the handle, I do what I have been doing for a long time. When I get ready to shave with the razor, I wet my fingers and rub them on a alum block or stick. This GREATLY increases the grip on MOST handles, including the Paradigm SE.

On the other side of the efficiency argument, I've been using the Proline blade. This morning I was just a real sloppy shaver (rough night): by all rights I should have looked like Frankenstein after the shave. Instead I had a very close, smooth and event-free shave. I just don't think it's possible to get a bad shave with this razor.

What is wonderful is how much you can change the feel and agression of the razor. Put in a Proline or Kamisori and you get a smooth comfortable shave and put in a Feather Super Pro and it's like adding a more aggressive efficient plate. One of my top favorite razors.

I have enjoyed the feel of the Feather Super so much in this razor that I haven’t even tried a Schick Proline and never did order any Kamisori blades.

This is my first polished titanium razor (first titanium razor period) but I’ve found it to be way less slippery than polished stainless steel. No grip issues at all with the Paradigm SE even when wet and soapy.

It's sharp and it cuts. I like it...

The 5th shave with the Pro Super and I still feel like it has 2-3 more great shaves in it. It has been the best blade in the Paradigm Ti for me over the Schick Proline and Kai blades, hands down. Just has been excellent shaves...
And the A&E soap/aftershave combo are just superb. Really good stuff with a great scent (Creed Aventus clone of the fruitier batches) that is in your face but, very pleasing and masculine.

For me the Super Pro blades have transformed this razor into exactly what I wanted it to be. Just as smooth and mild feeling as the regular size Proline blade but it kicked up the first pass efficiency and blade feel a notch which is what I needed. I was also able to complete the job in 2 passes instead of 3 which is also what I prefer.

I'm still learning my Paradigm SE but I wanted to leave some thoughts for those of you might find them helpful. My prior SE razor experience was with an Occam and a Colonial General aluminum. I really like the General. I read such good reviews about the SE that I thought I would give it a try. As for looks, I am sort of on the fence. It is definitely a different look.  That obviously is completely a your mileage may vary kind of thing. One thing that bothers me is the high polish. I've been wrestling with possibly brushing the finish on the razor. I much prefer a brushed look over high polish because I think the high polish looks a bit like plastic. Personally I like a tool to look like one.  None of my other razors are high polish. I may end up brushing the handle and leaving the head polished and going for a two-tone look. I think that might look good. Another thing that bothers me about this razor that I don't think I can change is the square handle. That is taking a bit of getting used to. I'm used to round handles and the maneuverability I think is not made better by a square handle. I like being able to make fine adjustments with round handle as I'm shaving. Okay that's that. Now for the performance. The performance of this razor is very good and that is difficult to deny. I think it is better than the General. Is it 10 times better I don't know. However, it is definitely better. I tend to like more mild razors and this razor will deliver on that front. Out of curiosity, and because of the recommendations of many, I put a Feather Super in it. Rather surprisingly I really like the performance of the razor with feather super. It probably delivered one of the best shaves I've ever had. That's really saying something. So, if you're on the fence about picking up this razor, you should do so before the last few are gone. It does have a few issues that aren't perfect for me, but at the end of the day, the performance is very very good.

Just used this razor and first off it is beautiful. The mechanism is good and very stable with holding the blade. I thought it was very smooth but not as efficient as other paradigm razors( yes, I know it’s an single edge and you cannot compare to a double edge). Very nice razor but not a must have for me.
