Just received my order. The razor comes in a simple sturdy box with a foam insert that holds the razor well. The razor is rather hefty - 113gr loaded with blade. The handle is not uncomfortable, though it is less comfortable than the one on the Paradigm Ti I. The pre-polish finishing work was not done to my satisfaction. The razor came polished, which exposed many minor imperfections on the head's surfaces (both top cap and baseplate). I am somewhat OCD, so I could not resist and decided put some brushing on the entire razor. It masked most of the imperfections and you can see the result below. I will use the razor tonight and if it shaves on par with my benchmark - first generation BlackBird, I would most probably keep it.
I am looking forward to learning about other fellow DFShavers' experiences once you start getting your orders delivered.
Cheers,
Alex

How did you do the “brushing” on it?

Hi there,
I work with WCS and have been in touch with Paradigm about this thread. If you're one of the folks who received a razor from this first batch and find a problem with the polishing, please email us at contact@westcoastshaving.com. We will stand behind this product and Paradigm will re-polish if the finish upon delivery isn't satisfactory. Neither Paradigm nor WCS wants you to settle for anything less than a great razor - period.

So, why aren’t you all providing any updates on shipping since the last update said that the razors would all be in by 10/7? People are really starting to get antsy!

Hard to believe that I am the only one who received a razor...
Nevertheless, I just finished my first shave. I used Nuavia Rosa and a Nacet blade. First and foremost - the razor shaves smoothly with a nice understated audio feedback. The handle, when wet, is not slippery and is quite maneuverable. The shaving angle was extremely easy to find.
WTG and XTG passes went uneventful in a good way. I could close my eyes and still shave without any worry to cut myself. Unfortunately, after these two passes I still had plenty of stubble to remove. The ATG pass almost did the trick - even and close shave, but not as close as with my Blackbirds or the other benchmark razor - Paradigm Ti I, which is perhaps my most aggressive razor and an undisputed champion in achieving the closest shave, though at an expense of some irritation and superficial cuts.
The overall quality of the first shave was very close to what I could get from my BBS-1. Though smooth and even, the shaves were never a close enough to convince me to keep the BBS-1. I let them go a long time ago without much regret.
I will use the razor a few more times to make a more informed decision. Meanwhile I will reach out to WCS to discuss possible improvements of the finish. Though it might be still too early, I am most probably going to put this razor for sale or trade in a couple of weeks. Stay tuned and ask questions.

Alex
