Good Morning Mike,
Any news on the possibility of the Paradigm re-issue of the original Ti-1 razor (there was a survey regarding this razor a several weeks ago) ??  --- JAY

I've mentioned this on another thread...I used to feel the same way... but if you unscrew the handle 3/4 of a turn
from fully tightened, it does get a little more efficiency out of the razor.

The manoeuvre should only be tried by an experienced shaver and with a silicon washer between handle and head.

I guess that would work, but I’m probably like most other people on this forum in that I have more efficient OC razors to handle the 2+ day shaves. I’ve actually been leaning towards miler razors lately.

The list as I have it now is:

1.) Dragonsbeard  - NY
2.) TommyCarioca - KY
3.) ewk - SC
4.) spacemonkey42 - MA
5.) bbssboss - MA
6.) bayourider - LA
7.) Dayman  - GA
8.) Cutty Sharp - KY has razor 8/28
9.) cigarman - MO completed
10.) SinCityAg  - NV
11.) Lesser- NY

I made some minor tweaks here to help with keeping a razor in a region and to keep it moving faster without major impact.

More can sign up as it’s passed around.  Just keep in mind of the common courtesy rules:

Keep it like new
Always use a washer
Disinfect before sending on
Write up with pics
Try not to keep more than a week (get your 2-7 shaves in with it and move it on).

Please insure the razor for 300 dollars when you ship it and we may flip around a few spaces to make shipments faster.

Enjoy Gentleman!

Background – I’ve been doing the wet shaving thing for about 12 years now and according to my notes this is the 40th razor that I have used or owned. I’ve had periods of lots of trial and testing and periods of just enjoying the moment. I’m currently in the middle of a major blade test, during which I discovered (and am loving) Treet Classics so that kind of put a pause on the test while I am enjoying the moment once again.

Current Razor - I love mild razors and have come to the realization that that additional aggression really doesn’t give me noticeably more efficiency with WTG strokes but does add to my irritation. As such, my search now is just for amazing mild razors that can go ATG because that is where the rubber meets the road. A good ATG pass will beat 3 wtg/xtg passes every day of the week for me. My current go-to razor is a stainless-steel Karve Overlander which I use on timeless titanium crown handle. It is the only razor that that I have found that I could comfortably go ATG with and get BBS – as such it is the razor that I measure all my razors against. My second favorite razor is either my nickel plated brass Overlander or my Wolfman WR2 0.75. A distant 4th is my WR2 0.95 which is probably going to get sold at some point as I don’t need the aggression.

Paradigm Diamondback Ti – Initial Impressions
I don’t have a firm understanding of Paradigm as a brand in the experiential sense. Every time a razor looks interesting, and I do the research, it is sold out, so I haven’t had a chance to try their DE stuff. I did own a Paradigm SE razor for a number of years, but I do not get along with SE blades and have sold it off. To me, the titanium Diamondback has perfect balance. This is surprising to me because the other full titanium razor I used felt handle heavy. I loved the look and feel of polished metal – the bead blast finish is definitely a ding I would give against my Overlander. I also like the feel of the handle, but I wouldn’t mind some more traction on it.

Please note that the current condition is a little suspect. I received the razor with a number of black spots or tea staining on all 3 pieces. The washer that was supposed to be used between the handle and head is gone and there is a noticeable handle ring at the bottom of the base plate. There are also a ton of hairline scratches on the top cap. I bought my Paradigm Ti SE second hand, and it also had a number of hairline scratches on it. However, I currently don’t have any titanium heads in my collection but my titanium handles all are fine so I am not sure what to think about this.

The razor has been barbicided and cleaned with soap and water and is ready to go! Stay tuned for first shave.

Interesting to hear about the black spots/ tea staining… was wondering if you’d be able to catch those in some photos…
I purchased a Ti DB from the first batch in the spring, and have used it regularly since. I shave daily, and have probably used Ti DB about 80% of the time since receiving it.
I haven’t babied it, and I don’t tend to use washers. So I think it has a light ring where the handle meets the baseplate, and possibly a couple of tiny hairline scratches on the top cap, but certainly no tea stains or black spots.

I have two other Ti razors: a polished Timeless, which I’ve had for many years now, and again it has some microscopic scratches on top cap and baseplate, and a satin Blackbird. Both used regularly, and again no tea staining or black spots on either of those.

I think razors can get a little worn in a multi user pass around.
Mine has no such issues....I can say that buyers will not have a problem with finish at all
