I've been shaving with the Diamondback for a week now, and I have to say that it is the best razor I've ever used. My Envoy shaves as close, and is as reliable, but it's not quite as smooth. The Timeless was too heavy, and the AS-D2 was too mild. The Karve is a great razor, but again, not as smooth as the Diamondback. I can really see myself unloading most of my other razors. The Diamondback is giving me the most efficient, comfortable shaves I've ever had.

If I had one gripe with this razor it's that it's a bit handle heavy. Maybe a centimeter shorter would provide better balance. Still, I'm getting some great shaves and don't plan on parting with it. It's smooth and efficient, as they say.

Right? I literally sold all my DEs but two after the DB! Lol.

Agreed. I really prefer shorter handles. As it stands, it’s not extremely unbalanced, but it could do with a tad shorter handle.

Just out of curiosity, which two did you keep?  And did you do so because they shave as good (or better) than the DB?

I kept my Tatara Masamune/Nodachi hybrid and a KARVE aluminum. I’m not the type of collector to hold on to a lot of razors. I typically like to find the very best efficient razor, and the very best mellow razors and rid myself of the rest. I feel that the Masamune/Nodachi is great if my face needs a break or if I need to rush out the door and require a mindless shave.

I use the Karve aluminum for head shaving in the shower. As it’s a fantastic razor for that purpose and would never dream of taking the DB in there.

The only other DE that I’m working towards is the 1.55 WR2. To me, they are similar but different and uniquely beautiful enough to justify their co existence.

To give you a reference, when I picked up the DB i sold my SS Karve CB, Brass Karve CB, EJ89, Game Changer .85, Lupo, Homelike Start 1.18, Rockwell, and a few others clearly not in the DBs class. While I have however used a Timeless .95, and for me it doesn’t come close to the DB.

The one razor I can’t really speak about is the CG lvl 2. As I’ve heard the shaves are similar, but not quite as good as the DB.

Not really mentioned, I did keep my Vector SE... well, because it is awesome Smile

Are more of these razors going to be released?

You could ask him directly through his website, but I think the answer is "maybe".  I believe the next release will likely be the Javelin Ti razor.

Well I just send an email and then saw the window pop up where he requested people not to email asking when razors would be released.  Oh well lol

Lol

I was ignored in the past as well, even though I asked IF a certain razor was going to be re-released, not WHEN haha
