I'm interested in your matching - what do you focus on to match brushes to bowl or face lathering? Thanks!
I use a boar brush to lather a hard soap, and bowl lather it. I use a badger for croaps and creams - a soft one for face lathering, and a stiff one for bowl lathering. If I face lather every day, I can get irritation, so I don't mush and scrub with my brush. Mostly painting strokes, and mild splaying with back and forth agitation. The boar is my stiffest brush, so I load off the puck, then move to the bowl, and finally paint on my face.

Thanks for taking the time to write that - I'll start experimenting!

This DB is really very smooth. I just need a bit more efficiency.
Paradigm Shaveware Is it possible to have Javelin or DB with higher gap options? I think the original gap is 0.8,
I think would be nice to have maybe 0.9 or 1.0mm.

The original plate is very efficient, but could be nice to have a super efficient Paradigm Razor like Wolfman WR2 1.55.

I agree with Cem about a paradigm razor with hyper efficiency like the 1.55 WR2 Smile

Andy please make it happen with the Javelin

I am not sure if gap or exposure (or safety bar design etc.) is the best way to get added efficiency. I think I might have added a little blade exposure when giving my 2019 the mirror finish. I think it was mainly from thinning the top cap a little if I did if I did anything. Either way, I like it before and after. I would vote for exposure over gap, but I don't design razors.

I agree the blade is really well behaved (very smooth with the flex being well managed) to the point it could be made more efficient without losing much smoothness. . . .but I think it shaves really close the way it is (and I historically love aggressive razors). The smoothness (and gap) fooled me for a while, I thought the razor was too mild by mistake, and didn't give it enough love at first. I didn't use it enough thinking it was too mild to realize how close it really did shave.

If Andrew does amp it up, I for one hope he does it his way. He certainly has me impressed.

I prefer gap increase more. Since for a same head design, more gaps will have more exposure and more efficiency.
Also, with more gap, I think smoothness not reducing noticeably. This is what I was experienced with Wolfman WR2 and Carbon.

Which Carbon base plate do you have?

I agree about the 1.55 wr2! Ratio of efficiency/smoothness couldn't be better. At least not yet!

"++" I used in pass around has 1.08 mm gap.

From my experience with the aluminum Javelin I think the Ti Javelin will give you the greater efficiency you are asking for. Me, personally, I’m very happy with what I am getting from the Diamondback. But I know you extreme masochists ( HaHa) have to have that Chef’s knife to shave with.
