Handle is too thin and gets slippery. Razor is great razor but can leave you with a burn sensation (does that for me) at times. Very nice razor overall.

Where do you get those washers and what size are they? I checked at my local hardware store and could not find them.

Washers diameter 10mm outside and inside diameter 5 mm. Nylon o Teflon.
They are not very common in small sites or hardware stores, but in Bahaus or Leroy & Merlin they surely have.

The washers are readily available on eBay.

Is the washer used to raise the gap or are they required, or both?

I think most people use the washers to prevent marks on the bottom plate from screwing the handle in too tightly:

A tip from a long time member of shavemyface who picked it up from a barber at Trumpers. Prevents over tightening and stress between metals.
