Your statement that you are paying homage to someone is just a smokescreen with a nice backstory.

You are still dodging the question. Your belief that I don't have a right to use the designs appears to be based on your belief that Brad Sears and/or Lee Sabini possess some right to exclude others (including me) from their use. I'll ask again: what makes you so sure that such a right exists, and how did it come into existence?

How do you presume to know what my motivations are?

What you smell and what you believe with regard to me are in your head. That doesn't make them real. They reflect your nature, not mine.

I have derived more satisfaction from developing a friendship with Frank and Lynn and making authentic reproductions of handles they produced between 2003 and 2013 than you can imagine.

I believe such a right exists because they dispute your use, which leads me to believe there is more to this than what you let on.

Based on the past and some comments I have seen from you, it is not a reach to assert that you are trying to get back at Lee for some reason or you have a disdain for Brad, or perhaps both. My suspicious nature contends that this, coupled with a profit motive, as new ideas are few and far between, are the very the nub of the matter.

You're making serious accusations based on 1) positions others have staked out without offering substantive support and 2) supposition/speculation.

You seem willing to give facile credence to anything Brad or Lee might say and unwilling to consider the possibility that I'm telling the truth. So, I'm not sure there's any point in continuing this discussion with you.

You're right about one thing, though. There's a lot more to the truth. But I don't have any reason to hide from it.

Ken is a historian of this hobby and is resurrecting the original designs of one of the most revered brush makers. Many enjoy seeing this because these designs simply no longer exist among new brushes in the marketplace.

You can say Brad is producing these designs because he has similarly named offerings with similar shapes. However, they are really not the same. Different manufacturing and finishing methods, plus different angles and design features. For example. if you put Brad’s L7 or Beehive next to an original Rooney/M&F, they can easily be distinguished from each other.

This is not a value judgement. Some prefer Brad’s versions. Some people are traditionalists who prefer the original designs. Some are more loyal to one brand or another. I think there is room in the market for both approaches.

The Legacy Series Polo 2 xl does not look like any of the brush handles I see on the Brad Sears/Morris and Forndran website.
