Thanks for the review link. I liked what I read, I think I will pick one up next week and give it a try.

I think that review was for the aluminum version. Same head design, but will shave differently because of the weight.

That was for the aluminus correct, AND just my opinion. I'd love to hear what others who have purchased either version think. I can't really find any reviews.

I think the real difference is in blade exposure, per the top cap being much narrower on the SS versus the Aluminum versions.

I can't post photos here but I do have them, as a comparison.

The PAA DOC SS is very aggressive; on the 1-10 scale, I have the R41 '13 as an 8, the R41 '11 as a 9 along with the ShaveCraft Tech, and a Devette (virtually any version I've created) and the DOC SS as a 10. Difference being that while the DOC SS is aggressive, it's not terribly efficient; I can get a closer shave in two passes with a much less aggressive razor, such as the RR Hawk, the SC Tech, or a number of others.

I found the aluminus to be about an 8 and really efficient, but I haven't used the SS version.

A 10?!? Yikes!

I was so close pulling the trigger on this one, omg.
