I see that Amazon is now offering the $399 version of the OneBlade. No mention of a previous version, or if the one offered is version 2.0, etc. Someone asked if this was version 2.0, but it wasn't really answered. (One answer basically said: 'I'm sure it is, but don't worry, I've got the first version and it's great')

Marketing copy seems the same, and there's the same lifetime guarantee. At this writing, there are 13 5-Star Reviews, although none from Amazon Verified Purchasers. I'm not implying anything by that, just that I will be curious to see what the feedback will be from someone who gets this directly from Amazon rather than from OneBlade.

Hmm, the plot thickens — once again.  Confused

They did a nice job of setting up the Amazon offering with pictures that display all the pertinent information about the razor right there by the listing.

Since they supposedly don’t have any of the 1.0 in stock, then this should be the 2.0, yet the price is 1.0. So something doesn’t quite seem to add up there. Also, since all the reviews have been published on the same day, I assume OneBlade did that themselves and used reviews they have received before they set up the Amazon page.

It will be interesting to see if the price will eventually change on the Amazon offering, and if new user reviews will start eventually coming in. There will probably also be some “reviews” where people mock the price of the razor, especially if it goes up to $499. That’s just Amazon — or any site where people don’t know how much wet shaving-related items can cost.

EDIT: As pointed out later in the thread, I got the pricing mixed up. So yes, the normal price used to be $299 and is now $399, which the Amazon page also reflects. Sorry for the confusion!

I thought the price was originally $299 going up to $399? If it goes up to $499, well.........nevermind.

Every review was posted on Nov 9 as well, as Matsilainen said (Amazon launch date?). I don't even look at Amazon reviews unless they are verified purchased from Amazon (same thing goes for other online stores I visit).

The review system is so skewed and shaddy, it's not even funny. One guy is now saying it is NOT the 2.0, which I think we all knew.

$299 is high, $399 is crazy, $499 is ridiculous.

Seems like if one was going to load up on reviews for their Amazon offering, they would have at least spread them out a bit. Not the best method there, have a little restraint and make it just a touch less obvious.

I’ve edited my original post, but just wanted to hop in here and say that the original price used to be $299 and is now the $399 that Amazon is also showing. Sorry for getting my numbers mixed up!

It will be interesting to keep an eye on the Amazon page for new reviews, comments, etc.

I've always found Amazon reviews to be less biased overall. I look at the verified purchase reviews primarily. It will be interesting to read what others think of the razor, which I bet will be mostly positive.

Feathers are now sold on Amazon too.

I ran the reviews through fakespot and .... uh oh.

If you don't know what fakespot is, just go there and run the reviews of any Amazon product to it. It tells you if the reviews are solid or fake. (fakespot.com)

Confused2  the score was F. >84% low quality reviews. They check the history of everything the user name reviewed.

If anyone is surprised about this I'll laugh. I'm not trying to be mean but c'mon guys.

I haven't bothered to look at the listing. Are we seeing the v1 being unloaded or is it a third party seller?

I'd be concerned about the warranty. Whether the manufacturer honors it through Amazon. There's an expensive memory foam mattress I considered buying on sale through Amazon once until I saw all the low ratings were in regards to the money back satisfaction guarantee only being honored by the manufacturer if you bought direct.

To put a little more info out there, I received an email from OneBlade on November 9th asking for my help. They were requesting that I review their razor on Amazon. To their credit they even mentioned that they were fine with any review (good, bad, or otherwise).

I chose not to review it as I didn't purchase it there and I personally have too many questions left unanswered at this point.
