What a wonderful collection and presentation. Unlike most types of collections and hobbies, these aren’t objects that we admire for their beauty and style but don’t physically touch, and they aren’t tools that we collect for their unique approach to function but don’t display for their beauty - they’re both! I can’t think of many hobbies that offer this other than wetshaving. Cars and watches come to mind. But who other than Jay Leno, could have such a collection of cars? And even watches don’t have the same depth of use as tools.
Do you use the same soap/cream for each shave, or do you keep those elsewhere?

Thank you for the kind words, Johnny. Right you are. I use and have used every item in the collection. That's so wonderful about the world of shaving. What I collect I use.
I rotate about 35 soaps and creams. Everything is kept in an open closet next to the counter (not shown in the photo), because there is no room for them on the counter. My favorites are Martin de Candre and Castle Forbes. I use the others, too, obviously, but you can't beat those two in overall quality.

That makes sense, with so many razors and brushes to choose from, to have as many soaps, as well! It’s a strong endorsement of MdC and CF that these are your favorites out of so many. I’ve never tried MdC. I went through a tub of CF lime and loved it, but recently I’ve been using artisan soaps. I have a CF 1445 that’s half-full, and you’ve reminded me it’s there. I look forward to enjoying it again. CF scents are special. Thanks for sharing your collection, Obie!
