I tried different blades/soap/creams and just could not get a good shave from the darn thing. Not sure what the problem is/was. It's a lovely razor, well built and funcitons well. Just not for me I reckon. I'm glad that so many are enjoying the razor and getting great shaves.
That's the best part of the CNC machined world; it allows small businesses to bring a wide variety of razor options to the market. This diversity means that while some products may suit your shaving technique, others might not—and that's perfectly okay. If a razor doesn't work for you, there's no need to force it. There are plenty of other options available. For instance, I didn't get good shaves with the Tatara Adjustable or ATT razors, even though others enjoy them a lot. It's all about finding what works for you.
I've tried the Oliblade razors a couple of times now. For my last shave, I did a side-by-side comparison of the Rocnel 2021 Sailor #4 and the Oliblade #6. Both razors have similar levels of aggressiveness, and I achieved a great two-pass shave with each. The only difference I noticed, as #Clouds mentioned, is a slight drag with the Oliblade. This became apparent only when I compared it directly with the Sailor. However, this doesn't bother me; in fact, it actually makes me to slow down a bit, which enhances safety.
