I saw this brush on the SOTD and got ahold of the brush maker Francisco. A few emails later I ordered the Sevilla. This is a lovely brush, one thing I am happy with is that at the moment is it only comes in a somewhat milky white (easy decision on color). The handle feels good in the hand, it's well made and attractive. As far as the knot it has slightly more backbone than the Elite knot nice full head with soft tips.

Hey Dad, what's that shiny white hairy thing over there? Is that a relative or something? Dad! it has no fur on its shiny parts hows it going to keep warm?

I am glad to see that some people on here have found these brushes. I have also communicated with Francisco and I am very interested in the new shapes and colors for 2020. I am trying to buy less this year but I might have to get one of these.
Happy shaves

Are the knots handtied or are they using premade knots?

Most all knots are hand-tied by someone, are these tied by the brushmaker? I don't know, but it wouldn't matter to me because they're an excellent knot. I understand that it's nice to know that the brushmaker created the brush from A-Z but I've had brushmaker hand-tied knots that were terrible (They may have hand-tied the knot but the hair quality was not good or inconsistent). What I'm interested in is a product that the maker had taken their time to put together with quality parts and finishing so as to offer an excellent product that I like.

The knot in this brush is put together very well, the handle itself is well-made. So as far as the knot is concerned it hasn't fallen out of the handle and it feels wonderful when I lather.

We do not hand tie our knots just yet. We are indeed going through the motions of learning but thus far our results are not consistent. The process is laborious, and it is not easy to achieve consistent results.
We do however have a manufacturer (I think it may be one used by some European brush makers, not confirmed, just a hunch) that tie the knots to our specs with the hairs we have selected. At present, they are doing a better job than us.

We are already delivering brushes with our crafted handles, and with our signature handmade leather case that protects the brush when dry and not in used.

Having said that, prices would not be close to what they are should we tie our knots too. Let alone the early adopter prices we’ve had so far.
Really glad to read our brushes have caught your attention. Thanks!

The Oku brushes are simply FANTASTIC! I also would like to mention that Francisco's  approach to business is exemplary. I am very much looking forward to seeing his business to grow and flourish!
