OK look.....I like the whole shaving thing.......

So, am I the only hoarder wondering, "Nice little bit of kit.  Where's the rest of his stuff?"

That's a huge collection. If it makes the owner happy then so be it. This is a truly great hobby and it looks like this guy is having a ball collecting things.

That's addiction, pure & simple. A lot of that soap will go bad before even being used. To me that is someone who needs help.

I don't know man. I would say I'm addicted and my collection is nowhere near that big. Not even in the same ball park.

Also, how do you figure "a lot of that soap will go bad before even being used"? I've seen people on these forums that have used 100 year old soaps that haven't gone bad.

Variety is the spice of life, Gentlemen. That guy is my hero. I only wonder why he is taking up perfectly good shaving shelf space for books.

I had some pucks of old Palmolive barber soap go bad. Black spots all over. As well, I think many modern ones are "croaps" that won't last years.

I actually had a tube of Proraso go bad. I think it was a ten year old + tube from the graphics I looked up online. It just sort of separated and smelled funny. I think the only thing that hard soaps lose is their scent. I have a tub of soap commander courage that has completely lost its scent. The soap itself is fine.

The only thing I would find hard having that much stuff is choosing what to use. I have a hard enough time choosing what to use with what I have now.

And those stacks are three/four soaps deep according to the owner.  I thought I was going a little overboard (Aftershave/colognes on a different shelf.

My rough guess from counting the visible soaps and the owner's report of those stacks being three/four deep (I assume more stacks of soap?) is that he has a soap for every day of the year.

I have this vision of "wow, MdC is fantastic, see you next year buddy."

Ok.  Only 5 of 9 shelves with shaving stuff.  And I'm not seeing any razors in that picture.  And the very bottom is still empty.  There's room for more.  Where's the hardware?  I'm guessing there IS more.
