Hmmm, I see in the middle photo that a tooth is missing on the left side. Ah well, this was another very inexpensive bid/buy on eBay. Here's to hoping it doesn't affect the shave to a bad effect! (and that, dear reader, is a free grammar lesson! Affects cause effects!!) (boy, I sure hope I'm right, or I will have a large serving of crow to eat, ha ha)

Brown Santa came today!

Breaking news - John Rose buys a soap AND the matching aftershave without having smelled it first. The description of the fragrance notes ...
Quote:Scent: Fresh and clean; the classic Italian Colonia scent, some people refer to it as the classic Italian Barber Shop scent. Inspired by Acqua di Parma Colonia Classica.

Scent Olfactory Pyramid:
Top Notes: Bergamot, Orange, Lemon, Orange Blossom
Heart Notes: Lilac, Lavender, Rose, Basil
Base Notes: Hay, Tonka Bean, Patchouli, Musk, Sandalwood, Oakmoss
... made it seem harmless at worst, and I like most of those components individually.
Turns out I like xXx. Similar kind of appeal as Reuzel AS.

The "Haslinger Aloe Vera Shaving Soap" I got out of curiosity, having read good opinions of Haslinger soaps in general. Just enough $$$ to bump my order into the "free shipping" zone. Just in time too, because I see that it's now out of stock at IB.

Proraso Green AS: I used to dislike Proraso Green soap, but I've come around. Thought I might as well get the splash too, since it's difference from most of what I already have.

And finally the 50 Feather blades. I couldn't use Feathers in most of my razors, but it turns out that they are terrific in the Henson AL13 Mild. Now I have an excuse to buy some, since I'm almost out of my sampler bundle Feathers.

And who wants some Ghost Poop? I brought enough for everybody!

Brown marbled Bakelite is one of my favourite materials to look at. With care, you can polish it up and give it a coat of Carnauba wax. It really brings out the faux burl pattern.
By "with care" I mean don't cut through the surface to the sawdust filler (which Catalin does not have). Then you're hosed.

You're going to love the Henson... Maybe. Lol. Everyone is different, of course, but it's the best I've used. Can't wait to see your shave review.

I will share my secret with you all. I offered, in my BST post, $5 more than the original price, so a seller could more than break even and I would be paying less than new  Idea <my bright idea!

The Henson is fabulous razor head... and I rarely use the word "fabulous".

Personally, I think the stock handle is wimpy and reminds me of a #2 pencil. Slap a Tibam on there and you'll have a sweet setup my friend!

Well, good thing I have a couple of TiBams, and I think a Karve and RR halo, too. I ought to find something that will work. You are right, the whole assembly feels so light. I have only used injectors that feel so light. On the other hand, the Yates 921 with the stubby handle is almost too hefty for my weak arms!! I need to pump them up!
