Freddie, they are beautiful and, as has been mentioned, your photographs do them complete justice. Happy2

I promised I would take part in this thread but I will only  do one bowl per day
Us retired male housewives are not very efficient. Okay I am inefficient.
I still must wash the tile floors today and make my supper.

Here goes. My first wet shave lather bowl.  It worked fairly well and other than a few cuts I was happy with my first wet shave.
So I rinsed the bowl and set it on my supper table table. My first spoonful of chicken soup convinced me that a mere rinse was not nearly enough. Soapy soup is not gourmet food.

I only used it once.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Mickey

Lol! Thank you for sharing Mickey. I will have to make a mental note to properly scrub my soap dishes should I ever use them for dinner! Can't wait to see the next one!

Thank you Freddy for the kind words. I have no SOTD to do it justice but here is my very first lather bowl from about 4 years ago. Still have it ready to go should I ever need it. Currently holds my change lol. It's a plastic salsa bowl I got for a dollar at Walmart. Worked great!

Hey, don't knock those $1.00 plastic bowls.  I use one for my shaving creams and a metal cat water dish for my loose soaps and both are brilliant.  They may not be pretty but they certainly get the job done. Winking

Never hear me knock them! If they work just as good as a $20+ bowl then I just grin like a Cheshire cat! Saves me that much more to put towards other goodies. Big Grin

So much nicer than the stock soap tubs. I use glass, ceramic and wood bowls

My second try at a lathering bowl (device).

A mug as some internet expert was using.

Too narrow. Too noisy. Those pig whiskers are too prickly. I guess I must get some more expertise somewhere.

I have used my share of coffee mugs for brush soaking but never to lather. I always load straight off the soap and straight to face. I did come across this hand maid mug that works perfectly! Holds heat well and nice dimensions for any brush. I could place a puck in in it if I wanted but just like it for my brushes. I placed my SOC boar to give an idea of size. It's also allowed all my cups to go back into coffee rotation lol.

Bowl(s) number 3. Numbers 1 & 2 were not exactly thrilling.
I took myself to an Oriental Items (from electric rice cookers, woks, chopsticks. slippers and bowls and more bowls. I was confused.
I told the attendant what I was looking for and she took me directly to these - Miso soup bowls. She said Miso is drunk directly from the bowl, no spoons. She was fabulous - a mind reader.
They are lacquer and quite handsome. $4.95 each! They are light weight and very holdable.
I used them happily for about 14 months.

They are now elegant nut bowls. Mmmm- Elegant bowls for nuts.

Beautiful bowls Mickey! I've actually looked at the lidded soup bowls to store soap. Found some I really like but have yet to aquire. Got to have a soap to fit my theme lol.

PS: I hope those are for the cracking kind. Be a little odd to admit otherwise... Big Grin

Freddie,

Some kind persons or machines already cracked them for me.

Mine had no lids.

I have had miso frequently in sushi restaurants. They have never had lids.
I wonder if there is a lucrative market somewhere for those lids.
Perhaps a discus tossing academy?

Mickey
