Noble Otter reformulated and relaunched on May 25 and a wet shaving friend I trust has really been impressed so I ordered two. I never tried the previous soap base, or had heard of Noble Otter, but it’s outstanding. A few shaves down with the Noir Et Vanille and BarrBarr below and the lather slickness & post are exceptional.

Some amazing soap bases available right now but this new launch places them right there with GroomingDept and Wholly Kaw Donkey Milk...or higher for me. The BarrBarr is a favorite already. Powdery, sweet and a bit of spice. Great discovery!

100% agree. And the new scent, the noir et vanille is absolutely divine and a must-try.

I haven't used the new base, yet. But the old base was very good as well. Looks like the new base is a winner.

I’ve really been wanting to try out Noble Otter’s BarrBarr Soap and Splash for a while now. I love Barbershop scents, and I remember @"iamsms" saying that it reminded him of real Barbershops that he’s been to in the past. Placing it with the likes of Grooming Dept and Wholly Kaw DM is high praise, guess I’m going to have to try this one out!

High praise indeed. I was surprised how good it was when I first used it last week. I don’t know how much better these GroomingDept, Wholly Kaw DM and now Noble Otter soaps can get in performance but I’m enjoying the journey!

Great jars and NO has collaborated with labels from @madpepperdesign on instagram. Really wonderful presentation.

Hunter, if I may make another suggestion. Try the Noir et Vanille scent along with BarrBarr. I smelled this one over at Maggard Meetup, loved it and yet to find a person who disliked it.

I'm definitely going to pick up some NO soon. I think I'm making a trip down to Maggard later this summer and I'll give them all the sniff test. It's between Barrbarr, Thé Noir et Vanille and Flying Hide.

Could anyone try to describe The Noir Et Vanille scent, please?
Very curious about the new base. I hope that it's in the same league of Declaration Grooming, Tallow+Steel for example (I don't like Wholly Kaw, neither Grooming Dept).

Black tea and vanilla as it’s named but I also pick up the Jasmine, light florals. Very nice. I have the Declaration Grooming Pure Lavender. Both share white willow bark extract but I find Noble Otter’s base and post shave superior to Declaration.

That is high praise vtmax . I actually consider DG one of my top soaps. I just ordered Noble Otter Thé Noir et Vanille and hope it performs as you describe. I also put in an order for another black tea scented soap, Visions and Revisions by Storybook Soapworks. I have a sample of Turtleship Te Java to continue the tea theme. It should be a lot of fun comparing these soaps.
