Yes , theyre not really concern about badgers but profits.Now they have the perfect excuse to stop selling badger brushes , sell synthetics and get bigger profits. Theyre not lowering the prices but keep the actual ones and , there you go , more money to make.Muhle US sells the 25 mm STF brush for 131 dollars.AoS would sell it for 190 , the current price for their silvertips.

Meanwhile in China badgers would be still killed.

I think synthetic hair is at a point right now that animal hair in shaving brushes is irrelevant for a lot of people. I've used a badger brush maybe once in the past year.

See, I've gone the opposite direction. I was all aboard the synthetic train for awhile until I got curious about a higher end badger and picked up an Elite Manchurian. It's been my main brush ever since. It just feels "nicer" on the face. I can't really explain how, but when I use a synthetic now, it just feels cheap or fake somehow. They still produce excellent lather with ease and I still use them sometimes. I just prefer the face feel of the badger.

If it lathers the soap, the typical AOS customer won’t care that it’s synthetic.

While not mentioned on the P&G website, guessing AoS badger brushes made a significant contribution to company earnings.

I have been reading great reviews of those Elite brushes , specially the two band ones.Seems they’re as good as the old Rooney Heritage two band , which were nothing less than superb.

May I ask you if you have tried a Chubby 2 synthetic ?

However I don’t think this would help to develop new synthetic fibers , to be honest.P&G would sell whatever is on the market , overpriced , of course.
