With the generous writings of many members here, I've reached a personal shaving plateau. Might you help me take a next step up?  (Attention all RAD enablers.)

Currently, technique and software combine to  consistently produce DFS (with rare weepers and no irritation) with Yates SS 921 H plate, Gillette Slim (6 or 7settings) and Gamechanger .84-P plate, primarily using GSB, Nacet and Wizamet blades. I favor shallow angles, heavy, slimmer heads and lightish handles. No OCs.

If I'm at 95% of my shaving goals, why might I be looking at yet another razor, a +$300 one at that?  RAD, love of extraordinary marginal  utility and aesthetics (the art of my eye), and I love new challenges. Or perhaps a watered-down RAD compromise, such as Yates 922 EH plate or a Lupo head?

Having reviewed as many threads as possible, I'm leaning toward the Blackbird/titanium handle or the Timeless Slim/ Ti Crown handle.

Opinions, recommendations, and alternatives are greatly appreciated. I will read, research and consider all responses.

Thank you!

Also, if you’re willing to try an adjustable, the Rocnel Hybrid Adjustable is pretty incredible.

Since you willingly want to go down the "rabbit hole" then go Wolfman. I would suggest a WR1 .74SB SS. Handle is open to your personal preference.

I have tried a ton of razors and the Blackbird is my desert island razor. I highly recommend it!

At one point I was considering the Blackbird vs Timeless Slim and other Timeless variants. Based on forum feedback at that time, I went with the Blackbird Ti. It is now one of my top DE razors, and I don't see it every leaving my DE rotation. I would suggest trying out the Blackbird since it has a 30 day return policy. You mentioned the Lupo as well. I have the .95 OC Lupo. It is an enjoyable razor, but I would recommend the Blackbird Ti over the Lupo. The Tatara Nodachi Ti might be another DE to consider as well.

And have you considered any SE options? Lots of wonderful razors in that format. Atelier DURDAN La Faulx classic with a Feather Pro Super is one of my favorites at the moment.

Completely concur with this statement, especially, the Ti. It shaves similar to the SS and Brass, but it is much softer on the face.

Can’t go wrong here. Buy whichever one interests you most and return it if it’s not amazing.

The choice between Blackbird Ti or Timeless was a no brainer for me. I've tried them both and kept the Blackbird Ti. When I'm not using a straight razor it's the one I reach out for the most together with my Wolfman. Honestly, regardless what everyone will tell you, it's really a very personal decision as how a razor will perform for your beard/skin type. That's not even taking the right blade/razor combo into consideration. Order them both and then either re-sell or return the one you find lacking
