Having already read reviews of the Black Label blades, I gambled on 3 additional packs due to the Kickstarter pricing. I also got the razor stand and am glad I did, it's heavy!

Shavo numero uno para migo:

With any new razor, I grab a credit card and check the blade exposure. With this adjustable, I am able to get it right where I want it; just barely catching. That is #4 and I can see using #5 next time.

Being experienced with injector, I know how to get the blade angle right for maximum effectiveness. With the Black Label blade, this thing is smooooth. So smooth that I don't think I can properly evaluate these blades on anything other than being sharp enough not to tug. They feel less likely to cause irritation than some Artist Club blades while still being sharper than, say, a Kai Pink Mild blade. They are probably closest to Prolines. In DE terms, they are probably closest to one of the Gillette Platinums. I don't know if they will be as smooth as vintage Plus Platinums, but I intend to figure that out!

The razor itself, loaded with blade, is exactly 90g. Under the expected weight and right at the top of my preferred range. It feels substantial compared to the vintage injectors I am familiar with, but in a good way. I won't go so far as to say that the weight helps it work because it doesn't feel like a heavy DE does, probably because of the handle angle. I will say it does feel slower, in a good way, than my vintage injectors. The grip sleeve is a pleasant surprise as it rounds out the rectangular feel of the handle and I prefer fat handles. I will be acquiring several spares as they are likely to get nasty and have to be cut off due to the tightness.

Shaving wise, it's an injector and doesn't do anything different due to the head design. Did I mention how tame this thing feels while clearly plowing right through tough thick patches of hair? I feel like I could do as many passes as I wanted, but don't have a need to. Going up to #5 on the first pass should reduce the amount of buffing necessary, but I think I can dial it back to #4 and leave it there for the rest of the shave. Maybe #3 if I have some previous irritation. #1 would be safe for body shaving, because it is negative, if you dare!

PS: The grip sleeve has shaping that allows it to sit much higher than pictured, but I don't blame anybody for not getting it all the way up! I did because I am stubborn and like to grip higher up.

Lol didn’t want to rip the sleeve

Shave #2

Definitely smoother going from 4, 3, 2 tonight. Tabac lathered awesome as usual. Looking forward to shave #3 fellas.

Happy Shaves all.

Two shaves in and I seem to have found happiness at setting 4.5.   The only problem is that my adjustment wheel doesn’t want to stay there, so I have emailed Supply.  I really like this razor!

Shave #3

Pretty smooth overall going from 4, 3, 2 again. The shave was mostly smooth sailing except for a minimal nick at the jaw line that stopped bleeding mid-shave - No harm, no foul. No issues at all with ARKO as per normal. Hopefully shave #4 goes this well. However, my asylum RX is waiting too - decisions, decisions…

Happy Shaves all!

I am three shaves in and becoming less impressed with the Black Label blades. The second shave was noticeably more aggressive than the first and I hadn't turned the dial down from 4. This is expected from DE blades, but seems kind of quick for a single edge. I had several weepers, especially my neck. I will say that nothing during the shave was uncomfortable and the blood came out unexpectedly. I will definitely turn this down to 3 after the 1st shave in the future. The problem is anything less than 4 isn't getting close enough for nigh shaving. The third shave, I did turn it down to 3 so that's how I know what I need to turn it down to on the second. Even with turning it down, I still got more alum feedback than I think I should have. I am going to push this blade out prematurely tomorrow and load a Plus Platinum because I need to get a close shave without risk. I should mention, this blade was crooked in the injector and might have some damage so I will try another after I get a better idea of how the razor itself performs with a well known blade. I am really enjoying using this razor.

Shave #4

Holy cow!!!! I don’t want to sound too crazy / confident but I just had the best Supply shave yet (and I’ve owned V1 and V2 previously and passed them on).

I wanted to try a different blade so I pulled out a well used Schick Injector (new blade but not sure how old the key is - I think they are Chicks)… anyway from the first stroke (accidentally over 5), it was smooth and easy - very different from the Supply “white blades.” I haven’t tried the new “black” ones yet.

3 passes (5.5, 4, 3) and touch up and I’m amazed. I did a double take thinking that I accidentally injected a vintage Schick twin blade considering the smoothness and efficiency - I have quite a few of those in a separate container .

Anyway, I was going to pull out the Asylum RX for its maiden voyage tomorrow but now I’m not sure…

Can anyone else confirm this razor / blade combo?? Thanks!

Happy Shaves all

Josh

Hey Gents,

I hope I'm not intruding here, I just wanted to chime in and say hello. If this is not kosher, I apologize - please delete.

The Pro has been by far the most ambitious product we've taken on as a company, and that I've taken on personally as an engineer. We missed on a few minor things, but overall, the feedback we've been getting has been exceptionally good. I'm so pleased to be seeing the same here.

andrewjs18 I publicly shame myself and apologize for ghosting you. The last 9 months have not been easy ones - with this project, plus COVID outbreaks at multiple factories, the freight crisis, etc. No excuses though.

I'd love to make it up to you by offering whatever passarounds possible so that you can all give these guys (both Pro and SE) a spin.

I'm also happy to answer any questions. I'm a very kimono-open kind of guy, so don't hold any punches if you have em.

I'm deeply appreciative of the support and kind words here on the forum.

Ok, I have a question or two...

Ive seen a few reviews, pretty much positive. I'm curious how the supply SE rates on the Adjustable Pro scale and wondering if the pro is coming to the website (the SE appears to be there already).

Might have missed the answer in previous posts. If so, my apologies.

I don't know if it is against the rules either, but thanks for coming here! I just left you with plenty to read on the survey. Thanks for your hard work on this project, I am enjoying my Pro.
