I wonder what's 'second' about them? If it's just the logo or something else unrelated to performance it's a must buy.

When you go to add the 24mm fan to your cart it has you choose the defect type. The only one listed is a scratched logo for that particular brush.

Does the logo polish right off?

Yes, I could scratch it off with my fingernail. Mine (the original 24mm) got scratched somehow so I just decided to remove the whole thing.

Reading this site made me order one. The orange handle one with fan knot. A huge brush and of top quality IMHO. And, also a real badger shaving brush bargain, again IMHO. And, for me that's the only opinion that counts!!! Thanks for the info and praise. What a brush!!!! A true lathering monster. Makes me wish I had a bigger face? Plenty soft tips and also plenty of backbone. Bowl or face lathering and you won't be disappointed!

It's great to hear how much you are enjoying the Stirling 24mm Finest Fan brush, oldie!

I ordered the 1st finest badger brush Stirling released with the ivory colored handle and 24mm knot 5 days after this thread started. I already had a couple of their synthetics at that point. The 24mm Finest Fan with butterscotch handle followed right after it was released. I think you are right, oldie, this brush with the fan knot feels very versatile and a lot of quality in the brush for the price.

I'm still thinking about picking up the 26x54mm Finest with the black handle from Stirling. As mainly a face latherer, I think this one looks pretty good for the money, too. No, I don't really need another brush, but.....

I've been tempted.   When I first saw this thread I wanted to wait until the 26mm came out to compare and then heard about the fan knot and somehow time went by and I got past the urge to try one. I've never owned a badger brush before and after I got my synthetic brushes last year I thought I didn't have to worry about brushes anymore. Now I've been checking them out. I must say I find the whole badger brush thing confusing so this seems like a great way to try without much risk.

I agree with PickledNorthern.

I would say that if any of these Stirling Finest Badger brushes sound appealing to you, they are well worth the price of admission.

Couldn't  make up my mind between the 24 and 26. I went with the 24x54 Ivory handle. Thought I would start there. Of course I had to pick up a few other items. Evilgrin
