New Semougue 620

I have a Whipped dog boar thats taking forever to break in. My Omega boar is just starting to soften up after 6 months. My Semogue 830 only too maybe 10 shaves and its soft and the hairs are split.

I have a slightly different opinion here. Yes, the 620 when broken in will be very soft indeed, but I gave mine to my son for the exact reason you are talking about. It simply does not hold as much lather as a badger/synthetic knot. Go back to the puck if you have insufficient soap.

I have been using the 620 solely for my daily head-shaves, and it is still hogging lather. Eventually when its broken in, I'll put it into a rotation for my face.

I think it is fair to mention that the 620 is a pretty small knot at 21 mm. When you combine the maybe 50 or more shaves it will take to really break it in, and the small size, they can be something of a chore to bring out their full potential. IMO, they are worth it in the long run.

Get yourself a synthetic brush.
They are relatively inexpensive, have no odour, need no breaking in, only require a brief dip in warm water, clean up very quickly, make a great lather and are the ultimate of gentleness with no prickles at all.
I think your search would end with a synthetic. Yes, I am prejudiced now.

Body Shop has a very respectable synthetic at $14.

Most of the gents have said it already, a nice soaking period. But the beauty of boar brushes is when they are well broken in, ah, a whole different experience.
