I have genuinely enjoyed modifying blades to use in MANY of my vintage razors as many know. I have zero desire to do Pearls work for them on a razor they rushed to market and try to keep YouTubers from getting the word out to all consumers and try to cover it up. Already emailed Maggards to see what they can do.

Maggards is getting stuck with the bag on this one.  First to market, but first to get hammered as well.  They were hoping to have the supersafetyrazor bump from the Soloedge, but they are getting crushed instead.

Pearl should make them whole again

I don't think anyone doubted Maggard's would make it right. But, you are correct. Pearl should absolutely make them whole again.

Dave, thanks for this video. What a surprise! Seems like there was no blade slipping? Hmmm...... Must be a QC issue and not a design issue ?

Anyway, a few questions for you if you would be so kind as to entertain them:

1) Can you comment on the shaving angle? I found it to be very shallow, like an injector.

2) What about range of shaving angles? I found it to be very limited, and if that was your experience how much of a negative do you think that is?

3) I think I heard you say that it was a mild shave. Do you think using different blades could make it more aggressive?

1) I commented in the video it was a different angle but easy enough to find.
2) Very limited angle. Harder on my arthritic hands but not a big deal to find and hold.
3) Mild but efficient enough to get the job done and bbs. I don't think there is enough angle adjustability to help change it much. It's just a smooth shaver when using the narrow angle it was designed for.

Slightly off topic, but does anybody think that they could get this thing past the TSA X-ray machine at airport security?

Is it so strange looking (like a disposable SE?) that they wouldn't know that the blade is removable?

I am re-thinking whether this is really an ideal starter razor.  Yes, it is mild.  Yes, it would be neigh impossible to cut or nick yourself with it.  But, the range of shaving angles is incredibly narrow-maybe between 10-15 degrees, a lot like an injector.  If you don't keep focus and tend to lose the angle, it becomes inefficient and there is an inherent tendency to apply more pressure. I presume that this is something that you DE guys are familiar with?

Bumping my question: would it be possible to get this thing through TSA at the airport in a carry on?

Does anybody have any thoughts?

Truly depends on the TSA agent.  

Have flown almost 3M miles in my life.  Safety razors opened up usually are not an issue (take it out of your luggage and present it open so they can see there is no blade in it. 

Blades will never get through.

Check a bag or use a cartridge for the week.  I do find topcare blades in the US supermarkets made well from Personna
