The head looks a bit like the Henson from the side.
However, the shave plane is not that flat and the flatter area is shorter.
To me the Bison felt quite similar to the Overlander, moreso than a CB plate C.
I have a very light beard and am only doing 2-passes shaves, so I don't think you'd like the Bison.

I was using Tabac cream today by the way.
And a feather blade. (brand new)
Thanks for the post! I suspected it wouldn’t be quite what I like. I have never used an Overlander, but it seems to be on the milder, maybe medium side. But it does seem to be efficient from what I read from those who have it.

Well over two weeks in with the Bison. Might be my favourite Karve for daily shaves regardless of metal.

Great low profile head with beveled corners and built beautifully. Right there with the Overlander.

The shaves are sublime.

I now have a brass Overlander. I actually love it. The hype is real. Not too mild for me but incredibly smooth and efficient. Maybe I need to revisit my C plate.

Very nice. I love that green handle. I’m just a little bit leery of aluminum. I have a couple aluminum razors, and I have a hard time adjusting to the lightness of them. I’m used to stainless, brass, and copper, and I do prefer the heft. I finally picked up an Overlander and I’ve used it a few times already. It is definitely efficient enough to handle three or four days of growth easily, yet mild enough to be a daily driver.

I agree. I would even go in with brass or copper. I've been meaning to message and see if he can make some of the handles that I only see in aluminum in the other metals. And, I'm not metallurgist, so I'm curious if stainless or the other metals can also be anodized like the aluminum with the colors.

I messaged him about SS but no response… not unusual for Karve. But I’m sure he’ll put out an SS version eventually, has he has done with every single other razor he has made.

Yes, unfortunately sometimes he is slow getting back to people. I had two razors on order and it took me a little bit to finally get a response. Even going back-and-forth once we started, sometimes it was a couple days before I would hear back. I'm going to try myself and hopefully maybe I'll hear back. I mean basically the knopf pommel aluminum handle and the CuBr are pretty much the same handle in different metals so I'm sure it can be done. I'm just also curious about colors and anodizing if that can be done with other metals.

Is the bison less efficient than the overlander?

Would love to hear more on how this compares to the overlander especially ATG!
