In case you don't already know, I have become a big fan of Karve. I love their design, price, value, and vast choice of base plates. The only thing having me on the fence with this one is it's aluminum and I am a bigger fan of heftier razors. I love the look, though. And it's coming in at an introductory Black Friday price of CAD $99, or about $72 USD. That's a hard price to beat I think. There isn't any other info at the moment, so I don't know if the plate choices are available or how it will shave if not. It looks like colors will be available.

I used to think that I liked only heavy razors, but getting a Titanium razor changed my mind. I do not know about aluminum, though. That might be too light.

I do like Karve razors. I have one in SS and one in brass with different plates. Both are great shavers.

I also have titanium, but I found aluminum razors to be incredibly light. I think what it really is I have to spend a little bit more time and work on my touch and pressure with them. Realizing they're light and may need a little bit more pressure than my other razors, but I may be applying too much sometimes. Trial and error.

I don't see anything about it on Karve's website.  Will check back tomorrow.

I don't have any problem with light razors.  The Focus Tritok Convex is one of my favorites, and it's made of aluminum.  All of the Schick Injectors, from D to O, are quite light weight, and are all very good shavers.  I think the gravitation to heavier razors came from old timers introducing wet shaving to younger men.  "Let the weight of the razor do the work, and "No pressure" were commonly heard admonitions a decade ago.  Which is good advice for beginners, to which I pay little heed, as experience allows exceptions.

Yes, my fault. I neglected to mention it was just posted on IG, nothing on the sight yet. And, yes. I still hear those admonitions today! I did start off with a heavy razor. A Merkur 38C which is on the heftier side. I think I also have only 3-4 aluminum razors and never used them often until my Karve. I’m good with the SB-E, but depending on the blade, the OC-G has bit me good during a shave. I’ll figure it out. I got a lot of nicks early on with the 38C and learned that!

No idea. I would love one in SS. Or even copper for that matter.

I'm inclined to feel the same way. Aluminum is my least favorite metal due to the lightness of it. I love Karve, but my Copper and brass do see much more use. I need to work on mastering the aluminum!!!

Living on the edge
Is this their response to take on Henson?
Henson make an excellent razor and has GREAT distribution...can't say same about Karve.
