We have had a long extended fall in our part of New England. Some trees are bare while some still are completely green. It started out poorly with a lot of brown - what the locals call a "Brown and Down". But while not spectacular the season salvaged its self and we had good color after all.
We'll start off locally. This is our front yard.
Our burning bush - always good for color.
The trail in the back yard.
We walked the dogs on the trail.
It connects to a snowmobile trail that leads to a nice overlook.
This is from a road trip. We are in Bristol NH
Then onto Sculptured Rocks. A NH Geological site where a small stream has carved circular channels into granite boulders.
Rt 118 overlook outside of Warren NH
This is outside of Woodstock NH. They had a forest fire. It was still smoldering. News reports attribute a meteorite as the cause of the fire.
This was staged at a small pond to collect water to fight the fire. ML walked a mile to get this pic and then got into an argument with a NH State Trooper about disrupting an active fire scene. But she got her shot
This pic is from the newspaper and shows the same helicopter in use.
This is the same location with the fire scene behind us.
We are at camp now. This is Ticklenaked Pond.
A little color amidst the evergreens.
Me flyfishing. I'm on a rock because my boots leaked
The Wells River valley view.
Lastly the Cornish/Windsor covered bridge connecting NH and VT. It spans the Connecticut River and is the longest covered bridge in the USA. It is still in use and we drove across it 3 times to find the best shot for ML.
My lovely bride, ML, took most of the pics except the one of her at the overlook and the helicopters loading water.
She does nice work.
Hope you enjoyed it.
Phil
