I'm most curious to see how it'll do on a head shave...

Chris Bailey (from ilather.com) used the One Blade for a few of his head shaves. Although he praised the One Blade for face shaving, it did not perform well for him as a head shaver.

This is what I experienced with the regular OneBlade V1. It didn't perform well for me with my head shaves, either.
Maybe, with more time with the Core OneBlade, I can improve on the previous experience.

That is exactly the reason why I purchased one. They are going to have a lot of upset people if the GEM does not fit.

On the other hand, if it shaves no better than a $10 GEM Featherweight there may be some disappointment.

I believe Mantic59 has confirmed that the GEM blades do work in this razor.

Personally, I have never gotten good and comfortable shaves from any older SE razors, unfortunately, but the OneBlade provided me with the best shaves from SE blades that I have ever tried, so that is why I don't mind spending the $50 to try this razor as I don't see it as much of a loss, compared to the original OneBlade.

No they won't. They never claimed GEM blades would work in their razor. They were made to go with the specialized feather.

Fair enough, I get great shaves from all of the 1912 and Micromatics so have different hopes and expectations.

If it works with Gem blades that will be a plus for me but I didn't order the razor with that expectation. I wanted to try the Oneblade and this price point was a big draw for me

You are very fortunate as I love those older SE razors! Shy
