I pre-ordered the Core Oneblade as well. I have wanted to try a Oneblade for awhile now and at this price point I decided to give it a try.

I will have to get some pointers on the correct use of the Oneblade razor. I am going back and reading some of your notes now.

The idea of buying this razor at any price when there is no real alternative blade choices forcing the consumer to buy only Feather SE blades is ludicrous. And what is even more ludicrous is attempting to remove the spin of a Gem blade and using a nibbling tool to further alter it just to make it fit in this razor. I have taken a couple of Gem blades apart just for fun and the truth is it could be very dangerous. If you slip you can loose a finger. If you attempt to put it into a vice you risk easily damaging the blade. It is hard getting Feather blades online and the end result is 1-3 decent(maybe) shaves.
Finally all I can say to the mechanics out there please be careful.

There seems to be so much drama surrounding this razor from supposedly cornering the market on the Feather blades to having to modify a GEM blade in order to have an alternative to the Feathers to whether or not nipping a GEM blade is necessary (though I would trust SharpSpine's assertion that it is not needed) to quality control to price (though the CORE certainly mitigates that factor) to customer service that while the price of the CORE is good, everything else gives me pause.

I'll wait on a pre-order until it's confirmed that the GEM blades will work.

ironically enough, I just spoke with someone last night about trading my unused feather fhs-10 blades for some AC blades..

Thanks Freddy. I don't think there is any dispute about a GEM blade working in a v1 OneBlade without cutting it down. I simply don't know about the v2 & thus this CORE razor regarding the GEM. For $50 I'm willing to satisfy my curiosity. I just wasn't going to spend $400 for a v2 to test. Sadly I had a couple people let me down when they said they would test the GEM in the v2 but then didn't.

does anyone know how long the pre-order will run for? in the email I got, I didn't see anything that was specific.

I might just pick one up then and take my chances that a GEM will work.
