My faith in USPS

Myself and quite a few fellow shavers in the UK waiting on delivery of the new Stirling soap co synthetic Brush. Doesn't the brush just look amazing. Anyway.
According to USPS tracking my brush is currently on a world tour.

Firstly a tour of America
America to France
France to London UK
Back to Miami USA
Back to London
And now in West Palm Beach USA

Our postal system has become pretty much what you might expect from a Third World Country, I'm sorry to say.

I just sent some shaving soap to a pal in Scotland. Fingers crossed.

USPS should move into a PPP type of organization (Public-Private Partnership). USPS is long gone from its glory days and has become essentially a joke.

Good news. The Stiring Brush arrived today.
What a fabulous beast know a brush ?

To be honest, Bryan, I don't think 9 days from shipping to delivery is bad at all.  Granted it took somewhat of a magical mystery tour going to France and then back to Miami but that might be a sorting error.

Everyone knocks the USPS and, I admit, I have had my stories to tell about them, too.  However, they are head and shoulders above UPS.  As you know, I spend about a month each year in Dunfermline so have used Royal Mail enough to know that the complaints about it pretty much mirror our postal system.  I have also heard our Canadian friends complain about Canada Post from time to time.  I had trouble with New Zealand Post about twenty years ago.  Still, considering the billions of pieces of mail and parcels sent each year, the job all of these postal services do is pretty decent.  Is there room for improvement?  Sure.  Even so, things usually get to their destinations.

I think sometimes we can get spoiled with excellent service sometimes , I've had a few parcels sent from the west coast of America and arrived in just under 5 days but I've had a couple that took the best part of 2 weeks and because of my good experiences in the past I started to get a but edgy. The tracking sometimes you have to take withva grain of salt for absolute accuracy. I've just made a purchase of a Crown King 400 Switchback and I'll try and forget about it until it arrives. I've generally had good experiences with USPS while waiting for parcels on vacation.

I for one find USPS to be the best of the three major shippers and they are the cheapest.  I've never not gotten a package and I've never had one damaged knock on wood.  Considering the sheer volume of packages they handle I think it's amazing they do as well as they do.  We have become a society so used to instant everything that god forbid we have to wait a few days for shave gear or a phone to arrive.

Yeah I know exactly what you mean, my daughter is beside herself if her phone or data signal drops out for 30 seconds. I've always found shipping very reasonable from the States , for example I routinely pay as much as £5 for 1st class postage within the UK for small items and yet I ordered a shaving brush from PAA and 1st class international tracked was only £7.
