Hello,
Before continuing further I want to place a disclaimer .

All the DIY stuff you will see on this thread are NOT FOR SALE .
Neither I'm contacting any sort of "market research " or whatever else.
Please do not bother to pm me asking to make something for you .I won't !
I'm not a seller or a vendor .

This thread has as a main goal to show some artistic ( or not so ) ideas of mine .
You can say that I'm just showing off !
Please feel free to discuss or express any possible query regarding the machining ,the metallurgy ,the design
or any other issue of technical or aesthetic nature of any modern DE razor -not just for the ones shown at this thread .

Thank you .

The ROCCA project

A friend gave me a brand new Muhle Rocca razor head ( version 3 ) .
Just the stainless steel ( 316L ) head .
So I've made a handle and a small razor holder for it .

- Handle is hollow ,made of Titanium ASTM grade 2 and a bit of brass CuZn37 .
90 mm long , 10 mm diameter at grip , 23 gr ( ! ) of weight  and barberpole knurl textured .

- Razor holder is also made from the same materials .Titanium & brass .
Actually ,was made of scrap / left-over pieces of metal.
Turned out to be quite ..."minimalistic " !

For sure not an A' class job .Handle & razor holder were made just for the fun of it !
Did not bother to finish away any of the machining marks .

A really head-weighted razor !
Reminds me also some of the vintage razors.
Maybe it's the thin handle .

Not perfect ,but not that bad either ,me thinks .

That is wonderful work...is that a stone or resin embedded in the handle?

Very nice work. The details are beautiful. I like the concept of the reversal of the "normal" razor stand configuration, i.e., razor handle fits into hole in the base. The hole in the base often traps moisture and can lead to discolouration or corrosion. Your system with a peg on the base that fits into a hole in the handle will avoid that. Yes, you will need to ensure handle stays clean and dry after use but because of the orientation, this will be less likely as gravity will keep moisture out. nice.

The azure blue handle is also beautiful. Happy2

The Karve Solid Bar project

This one is my favourite razor of my den .
The brass head is made by Karve Shaving Co. and it's the D guard.
The handle and razor holder were made at my manual lathe ,while the "tree bark " texture was carved by hand.
The razor set has an antique patina finish and the razor handle has a resin-mica composite embedded decoration ( color : Aquarius )
The handle has a length of 80 mm and a max. diameter of 12 mm .

The razor holder (also made from brass ) features a drain hole and a silicone o-ring ,so to avoid wear of the handle finish & decoration.
