Started prepping my brush and scooping my soap to Sir Elton but I was in a much different mood, still went with a couple classics, including shower sing alongs and air instruments, Cheers!

Joseph Haydn: Symphony No.96 in D "Miracle"
Gerard Schwarz/Scottish Chamber Orchestra

Our local public radio station, King 98.1, is doing a countdown of the 98 "greatest" classical works, which I am enjoying while shaving.

Have the full 104 Haydn symphony set from Dorati And Philharmonia Hungarica on London. Haydn held in so little regard relative to his achievements

On the radio:

Camille Saint-Saëns: Samson and Delilah: Bacchanale
Leonard Bernstein/New York Philharmonic

Friederich Kuhlau: Flute Sonata in G minor, Op.83/3
Uwe Grodd, flute; Matteo Napoli, piano

Johannes Brahms: Academic Festival Overture, Op.80
Leonard Bernstein/Vienna Philharmonic

The Brahms piece is one I played in the All-Western States High School Orchestra in the 1960s, when I was an overachiever practicing 4 hours a day and planning a career as a classical musician. It's really a fun piece to play and still a joy to hear.

John what instrument did you play? Were you also a music major in university or did you go arts programme before going med?
