We're about 2 hours out from Nashville right now. Bringing along our fall line and some freebies.

So Mandy and I went down to Shelby Bottoms in east Nashville for a 9 mile run this morning. About 4 miles in, I turned my ankle and went down. Mandy helped me to a bench and started running back to the truck so she can come pick me up. And now it's pouring down rain....... and she still likely has at least another 20 minutes before she'll be back to the truck. Really hoping the meet up goes much better than right now is going!

At least I have the waterproof cover on my phone.

Nashville's  Shhhaaaaaavvveee-O-Rama 2016, also called the Music City Wet Shaver's meetup, was yesterday.

There are pics below.  First are the things I purchased.  ezlovanf Stirling Soap served our country in a difficult job with multiple middle east deployments.  We all owe a debt of gratitude for that.  Their products are well known on this forum and speak for themselves.  Their website is https://www.stirlingsoap.com/

TheShaveMercantile  is an online retailer.  I enjoyed hearing about how he got into wet shaving when he was given his great grandfather's straight razor and how he started repairing straight's to pay for his wet shaving hobby.  He expanded into having a retail website.  I was impressed as he talked about how he selected the the artisan's that he represents.  His website is http://theshavemercantile.com/

Other artisans that were there are Music City Suds, http://www.musiccitysuds.com/ and Villainess, http://www.villainess.net/.  The husband of music city suds just quit his job due to company growth and Villainess is soon to quit her job.  This artisan’s are more focused on non shaving items, though I got a great shave with Music City Suds shaving soap this morning.

The next picture is booty from the raffles and free samples.  The quantity is bittersweet.  The meet up was off of Interstate 40.  There was a massive wreck that closed I-40 for several hours, thus attendance was impacted.  Those that were there made out like bandits, though I would rather have had more folks and less booty.

The last pic is of the meet up.  What a great time.  I’m really glad I went.

Lastly, a note of appreciation from the artisan’s that sent free products and samples:

All artisan’s previously mentioned
@"Sapone Di Paolo"
Sonya Honaker, the gourgeous shave bowl in the pic.
DapperDragon
Soap Commander
Fair hope Soap Company
Maggard’s
The Holy Black

Pete123, thanks for the writeup and photos. I hope attendance will be better next year and that Rod of Stirling Soaps is okay.

ok, I'll address Freddy and then andrewjs18 request to ID the folks in the pic.

Rod, ezlovan is fine. He got there about 15 minutes before it was over. Rod is a veteran who deployed multiple times, for which we should all be appreciative. He has created a supporter in me due to his friendly manner, awesome soap and service to our country. I've already sent two noobs to him to get their starter kit and am going to have him as a guest on my TV show. Being on the show will give him great exposure, we'll take some cool pics that he can put on his website and he'll have video which can be linked from his site.

I don't think any of the vendors felt discouraged. The soap business is a business of love for most. Of course we all would like to have had more folks there, though part of the human experience is having things like a wreck that blocked attendance.

On a side note, excitement from the event, combined with a need to pay for this 'money saving' hobby, have caused me to decide to throw my hat into the artisan ring. I've ordered everything and hope to make my first batch this weekend. Hopefully, my early batches will at least give Williams and Barbasol a run for their money. Smile

Now, moving on to the pic, to the vary left in the orange/yellow t-shirt is Daniel. He and his wife own Music City Suds. His wife is in the back with a red t-shirt on.

To the right of Daniel is 'Steve Walker Rocket City Shaver', next to him in the burnt orange shirt is 'Jammin GI James' . Both of these guys have shaving channels. The artisan partially covered by the lady with the green shirt is Brook of Villainess Soaps. The lady in the green shirt and the gent to her right was a visiter. I spoke to her but didn't catch her name.

I had a nice conversation with the next guy over that has the plaid shirt. Great guy - a straight razor shaver from Chattanooga.

To his right, profile view, glasses and dark brown shirt, is our very own Ethan of TheShaveMercantile. I really enjoyed talking with Ethan. Another great guy. I have to agree with his selection of product based on the results I'm getting. I offered to have Ethan as a guest on my show as well, though he has a day job in addition to The Shave Mercantile and this is their busy season.

The final two folks were visitors that I didn't have a chance to speak with.
