Mozingo Brushworks

After 12 uses my ZT3 has really softened up.  At first I was a bit concerned it was too dense, too stiff and a lather hog.  However, it has really broken in to be pillowy dense, soft tips but firm backbone and not a lather hog.  It actually is a lather generating beast.

Below is a photo of the ZT3 in 28mm and a DEclaration B6 28mm Jefferson for comparison.  I love all my Declaration brushes but I feel Scott needs just a wee bit more attention to detail on his brushes.

If you don’t like the B6 knot lol I’ll happily take it off your hands. I’ve tried the ZT2 and while it is a nice knot it’s no where close to as nice as the B5 & B6 but you are right ... his handles are usually mediocre at best.

YMMV is certainly something. I put zt2 up with the best of the best.

Hey man I’m not hating the player nor the game. But I think that green one is a one off b5. I might be wrong. I remember Scott dropping a bunch of green one offs all at once.

I agree with this.  I love my Declarations, but Mozingo ZT3 is on another new level in my opinion.   Most Likely to be in the running for best knot of 2020.

on another note: If anyone here has a ZT2 and is willing to lend to me for a week to try and compare with ZT3, B9a, Black eagle HT2 (shipped today) Rhodium (shipping next week), that would be awesome. I REALLY ADORE my ZT3.

I agree with this.  I love my Declarations, but Mozingo ZT3 is on another new level in my opinion.   Most Likely to be in the running for best knot of 2020.

Agreed, the new Dec knots are not as nice as most of the previous batches. Haven’t tried B9 a or B or 10 but judging by B7&8 I don’t see my self rushing to get one.

It is a B6 titled 'Green Goblin".

This Brett's thread but can tell you the B8 and B9B are pretty good knots, especially B9B. That stated, while really like DG, Brett is my top brushmaker
