Want to be clear going forward.  Do you consider the truth to be trolling?  Do you consider intentional inaccuracies at the expense of an artisan to be trolling?

I don't know their business dealings nor do I care to know the inner workings - that's between them.  they can take it up with each other in PMs or emails or whatever. 

Pointing out that multiple brushes on this thread are direct rip offs (one even directly requested by another artisan) isn’t subjective.  It isn’t some sort of alternative truth or fake news and I wouldn’t equate it with trolling.

Alternatively, when a user makes an accusation and instead of providing proof he suggests the burden is on others to disprove his statement, which is clearly done to prop up his admittedly bias mind.  Yet, that’s ok and not trolling, which boggles the mind a bit.

Lastly, if I were to directly ask an artisan why they endorse and pay for the type of behavior that rips off another artisan it would probably be considered an attack or trolling, so I won’t do that.  But, I will end by saying there’s nothing impressive with duplicating (or attempting to duplicate) the hard work of someone else and I’m saddened that it’s supported and even encouraged by some commenting here.  Instead of acknowledging that fact it’s merely avoided and ignored while applauding empty accomplishments.

Such a tired argument. I’m surprised r/wetshaving doesn’t have an issue with the scope of the bitting on this shape.

are they exact rip offs? I have no idea. have you personally measured the shape, size and weight of them to conclude as such? likewise, since you know the 'truth', can you provide unaltered exchanges between Scott and Brett to prove anything? If not, it's all hearsay and speculation.

I don't know Brett at all...I can't remember speaking to him, ever. I have no idea where he's from or anything about him...and I haven't spoken to Scott in probably ~3 years...that's not to knock the work that either one of them do though...I have a few of Scott's soaps (love his labels) and he has done a LE for DFS in the past...

anyways, there's a few people that always like to drag down threads and steer them into trolling matches until they get locked, almost every time. we're not going to do that here..

My actions don't invalidate my points. I never claimed to be ethical! But I'd never screw over a friend and partner.

Just a whole group like with the tsm straights. But that's different right.

Would love to read some comparisons between the ZT2 and ZT3. I have a beautiful ebonite handle that needs a knot

herbert7890 what's the loft size on your brush? And I agree with your assessment. And even though I have a ZT2 I feel the same way.

Mine is a 28mm but in reality it feels over 30mms (compared to my other 28mms)

I have the Declarations B3, B4, B5, B6, B7, B8 and B9A. 

I also have a ZT1, 2 and 3.

Personally, I find Brett’s pours more interesting and his turning and polishing more precise.  Scott’s signature on the bottom has worn off on one of my brushes, so I prefer the Mozingo medallion.  The hair in the ZT’s is nicer and whiter.

Getting a Jefferson from Scott directly is near impossible unless you have lightning fingers and refresh his page every 60 seconds for weeks straight.  A custom order brush is $1000 from Scott.  A custom order from Brett is $40 or $60.  Scott is only making one shape these days over and over. 

Going forward, Mozingo gets my hard won dollars.  A little competition is a good thing.  Perhaps, Scott will start taking orders, varying shapes etc.

If anyone cares, my badger hair order of preference would be:  ZT2, ZT3, B6, ZT1, B5, B8, B9A, B7, B4, B3. 

My new ZT3 is 28mm and it blooms bigger than a  31mm B3 that I have (Dogwood Handle).  It also retains heat better than any other brush.  The face suction feels like a plunger.

That's some very high praise for ZT3 when is second out of all those great knots!

This is my only problem with my ZT2 28mm, feels like bigger than my 30mm brushes. 
Would like to get 24mm ZT3 for my next order.
