So gentleman, what razor and blade combo gives you the longest lasting shave? Stubble seems to take longer to come in. Looking to see how much of a difference in answers we have considering how wet shaving is very subjective.

So far the longest lasting combo I’ve found for myself is Carbon CX ++ plate with BIC Chrome Platinum. I get a solid 12hrs of smooth skin maybe even a bit more.

Going to get allot of replies in this one. BIC for me and I look like a badger attacked my face.

I'm pretty sure manufacturing plants come in to play as well. Allot of blades like Gillette are made all over the world. Like anything manufactured in lots you get tolerance differences.

Then you have each razor handling blades differently.  Have a tame razor, stick an aggressive blade in there. Aggressive razor lay a tamed blade.

I've also found some blades to be very aggressive at the start that mellow into great shaves a few shaves in.

When someone mentions your mileage will vary it's pretty much tied to razors and blades.

For me it’s the Henson Aluminum AL13 with a Nacet blade. Of the many razors I have this is the best combo. I really don’t care for the Nacet blade in a lot of other razors but this combo gives me great results every time.

I just picked up a 2024 Sailor from FloridaCreekIndian . It's the first adjustable I've ever used that I can't really handle well wide open. I have an Ambassador, Fatboy, Slim, Super Adjustable, Futur, Variant, Ascension DOC, and a few others. I run all of them wide open, and I even overclocked the Gillette adjustables and run the Variant and the Progress above 5. I also have a lot of other highly aggressive / efficient fixed-blade razors like the R41, The Stirling razors, MMOC, etc. The Sailor on it's highest settings is up there with the best of them. I prefer the Perma-Sharp Super blades. There are others that are just as efficient, but not quite as comfortable for me.

For me it is Wolfman WR2 with silver blue. I really like Palmolive shave cream; it’s the best shaving soap I’ve ever used.

Single edge: Blackland Vector Open Comb with Feather Super

Double edge: Wolfman 1.15 Open Comb with Gillette 7 o'clock super stainless or Perma Sharp Supers

I think single edge artist club gets it just a touch closer

For me my unicorn is the .95 timeless open comb with a Rex blade. Smooth as silk and leaves my face feeling like glass with zero irritation.

I love aggressive razors too. Had/have a bunch. The Sailor is my favorite, by far. I assume by "highest setting" you are at 6? Start at dot, end at dot 360d later? It's been a while since I tried but they can go to 720d-ish. Far more gap than I can tolerate. I usually run mine at 6-8 on the first pass depending on growth.

Most efficient Combo? Sailor for the win and the blade doesn't matter. Find a blade that is your most comfortable.
