Holy smokes brother, THAT is commitment to the ‘Fat’! I’ve bowl lathered and face lathered, even palm lathered in a pinch, but bowel lathering is next level technique!

Why is bowl lathering "next level" technique?

I’m pretty much a beginner, so I doubt my technique is the thing. I will say I’m completely unable to get a decent lather out of it with tap water. This is a photo I snapped last time I whipped it up. It has a nice face feel post shave, but I just prefer my DRH Arlington because of the scent.

I will use it next time I shave and maybe make a video of what I’m doing. I honestly didn’t realize it was considered so difficult to lather.

Bowl lathering is not. It reads “bowel lather”, and that certainly is!

Hahaha. Oops. Now that would be next level. I edited the original post striking out "bowel", adding "bowl" and a comment that says "Bowel lathering would be uncivilized".

Very hard triple milled soap .
Has more than double the density ( >1,6gr/ml ) of the average triple milled soap density ( 0.8 gr/ml )  .
Meaning that  it contains very small amounts of water .
Want to make it lather easily ?
Try this one : Add 10 -20  ml of distilled water inside the container of the puck ,the night before next morning's shaving .
Let it sit overnight .
Give it a shot then ,even with your softest silvertip or synthetic .
Always use cold or lukewarm water .
I use synthetic brushes exclusively ,load for less than 30 seconds ,face-lather for no more than three mins
I 'm getting consistently a rich ,thick lather from MWF.
It works pretty well with hard water actually ,as  Sodium Gluconate, Sodium Silicate,
Tetrasodium EDTA, and Tetrasodium Etidronate are  chelating agents.
The latter bind with metal ions - present in hard water -which can and will thin the lather of a soap-and  "neutralize " them .
To be more precise ,the harder the water the slicker the lather will be .
Magnesium Sulphate ( aka " epsom salts " ) is increasing the presence of  " soap scum" .
The latter aids a razor blade to glide effortlessly on the skin' surface .
For it's class ( soap weight  / soap price  ) ,I  seriously doubt that it has even a single serious competitor ,
regarding the overall quality (hydration ,slickness ,protection ,nourishment ) of MWF's  lather.
Lastly ,the MWF has a faint but distinctive scent ( smells like a blend of baby talc with milk cream ) .
From the other hand ,last time I've checked ,pure Lanolin itself -according to my nose -does not give off any particular odor ...
Not any of volatile organic compounds are present .
And trust me ,I possess a highly trained sense of smelling .

Interesting how we all have a different nose cause for me MWF smells like wet sheep. I get nauseated when I get a whiff of MWF.
