I won't get into it here.

I wouldn't either, considering from everything I saw the primary reason was self defense from an angry, drooling mob...

Guys, I would like to propose that we not bring up the past history with Phoenix Artist Acoutrements. All of that controversy is at least a couple of years old. He's made any changes needed on his behalf as there hasn't been further controversy. We all have skeletons in our closets. The important thing is that he took corrective action on any of the part that he was responsible for. As well, There were definitely accusations which were widely discussed as fact, which were proven to be false.

Do you think we would keep talking about about OneBlade if they addressed their issues and had been doing well for two years? Of course not.

Some people will be very curious and want to know the history. Fine, google Douglas Smythe controversy. But please, leave it where it needs to be, which is in the past.

Alternatively, if you believe in second chances, skip the whole thing. I can tell you that I did some crazy things in my late teens. I'm very thankful for second chances.

Also, keep in mind that PAA works to be innovative. Look at the improvements in shaving soap. PAA is part of that. They also brought back a double comb razor style, which was lost to history as far as I know.

Not to mention "I'd Lather Be Shaving", "Wet Shaver's Roundtable", and "The Big Shave West", all of which are HUGE endorsements and advertisements exposing our little niche hobby to the world at large...

BadDad , I totally agree. We all benefit as the market grows. As well, I like to see people learn that much of the marketing coming the cartridge makers are bold faced lies.

It shouldn't have.

Doug has always replied to my queries, albeit sometimes very succintly but still he does, very politely and I appreciate that. I had another question, through email and Frances was very helpful and was very quick to respond.

All my orders from them are shipped very quickly. Never had any issue.

Interestingly, compared to a previous order I made with another well liked artisan that was delayed for almost 2 weeks; PAA's service is topnotch. Never had something like this happen with them.

As for the products:

Many of the aftershaves has a remarkable staying power.

I tried the PAA soap formula, it's great.

I tried the CK formula yesterday and it was excellent. Surprisingly creamy so I accidentaly I overloaded a bit, but it was a joy to use.

Heck just for novelty, I even tried the old formula's in the tin, and it gave me a great performance. I'm still looking for them now, I'm digging the old tins.

I mean basing from what I heard, I shouldn't be enjoying their products and services as much but personally, I actually am.

Though we should respect each other's opinions, ultimately the best judge for what works for you and who gave you the best service is still you. A well loved provider can give the best service and products to many others, but that does little if you don't experience it personally from them.

I won a soap and splash on the WSRT. Sucks that it is off the air now. I liked the relaxed nature of it when they had artisans as well as just random people in the hot seat.

I also enjoyed my chats with Charles at his Austin store. Fascinating fellow. I also appreciated the ability to buy Feather DE blades at his store, the only place in the wild where I've seen Feather blades. My dad lives in Austin, and I always knew I could carry-on a DE razor when visiting my dad, and not have to cringe when buying the DE blades available at Walgreens or CVS...

Very passionate and somehow intriguing to watch. His method is not for me, but I found it to be very interesting. I still watch his old videos from time to time.

I loved Charles! If ever someone was misunderstood, it was him. Very tragic. Such a nice, sweet guy.

Yup I remember hearing an episode when you had him as a guest. Fascinating fellow indeed.

Do not overlook this very thread will enter internet search engines. A vendor/forum owner appreciated my many product reviews on site/forum BECAUSE it would boost his ranking and placement on those searches.

I saw Crown King mentioned once, and I will say, that soap formula is F$^%*&^ fantastic. I only have two, but they are my favorite veggie soap behind SV.
