As to the "Mike's is always out of stock problem" - let's face it: most of us have more soaps than...(just fill in the blanks for yourself) - so I'd rather have quality soap like Mike's, where you have to be a bit organised to get scents you want, than soaps that are always in stock and of lower standard.

Of course in an ideal world, we would have access to the whole Mike's range 24/7 - but I for one am just grateful he makes such a quality soap so consistently. Please don't forget, this is only a side project for him and he does have a day job.

Actually I just checked his site and there are currently 6 scents + his unscented shave soap in stock/ready to order - that's 50% I believe - so if you buy a tin/bar of each, that's ~12 months worth of soaps - hardly a reason to complain?

I'm just happy that Mike is still around producing soap after being in the market for a few years! some folks get their feet wet and then once they're dried off, they're done.

It's not fair to say that soaps that are always in stock are of a lower standard. Many of most of the soaps that are always in stock are made by soap makers that have a full time soap business, whereas Mike's is a part time business, or merely a side job as you mentioned. I finally tried Mike's and agree that it is a great soap and some of the scents are really nice too, but they are not the best soaps I own.

I never said that soaps that are always in stock, are of lower standard. I just said: I'd rather have soaps, that are not always in stock to average soaps, that are always in stock.

Or maybe in better words: I prefer great soaps and accept, if they are sometimes harder to get...

I ordered 3 of his tins the other day.

I've tired 3 his samples (which I don't think he sales anymore) when he first started but didn't get a decent shave.

Now I'm trying them again because I'm better at lathering and the soap isn't a tiny sample. Let's see how it goes this time. Smile

Hope you enjoy them Elliott. Samples are always tricky. Over 20 years at this and I've never tried a better soap than Mike's Natural.

My own plug here - Mike's was the very first soap I used. Since then I've been through 2 tins and now have 3 tins here. I agree that that it's a 'standard' soap, simple scents, no bells and whistles, but I like that. That is also why Mike's is not the only soap I have. Anyhow +1 for MIke's
