Given I live in the city where it’s made, I’m ashamed to say I’ve never tried midnight and two products at all. I’m curious on people’s thoughts on the soaps and aftershaves. Would people rank them with the likes of Barrister and Mann or Wholly Kaw or anything like that?

I also live in Calgary and Midnight & Two is really great stuff! One of the best soaps on the market, its one of my favoutes. Their aftershave is also really good, I use it as a moisturizer on days I don’t shave. It’s a bit pricy and I’m not a fan of their small tins but as for the soaps and aftershave performance I have no complaints, the soap is a bit thirsty so use a good bit of water to get the slickness. Their scents are also really good, I love the Cabin and the Province scent. I’m interested in his shampoo bars, if stores here pick it up.

I own four out of six current M&T soaps and in my experience they perform exceptionally well. Without hesitation I would put them in the same category with B&M, WK, T+S, etc. The only negative is the size of the tin. It is rather small, which prevents me from using my larger brushes.

I would highly recommend them, the Kent of Inglewood exclusive scent No 6 Gin in my favorite (one of four soaps I've ever hit the bottom of), and the coast are my favorites, but it is a great soap, the AS has zero burn, more a moisturizer, great in the dead of AB winters. Sometimes you get what you pay for and It is probably in my top 5 soap makers, the scents are great and they just work well very slick. They are apparently formulated for hard water, they always lather well, I rather like the smaller tin (I travel quite a bit for work) and it travels well. Also they have a hilarious YouTube video on bad beards.

Now I'm going to have to find some time to pop into Inglewood...maybe have lunch at Spolumbo's while I'm there.

When did you buy the soap? I bought a tin of the Cabin a couple of years ago and wasn't impressed. I don't know if they've reformulated/improved since then but it sounds like its possible. It also sounds like we might have to get a Calgary Wet Shavers meet up organized. I count at least three of us in this thread alone. Big Grin

I bought it a year ago, I’m not sure if he reformulated it but he may have. On another forum they have a soap pass around which has M&2 in the box and it gets great reviews. It’s in my top 5 for sure.

I had no idea Calgary had such a presence on this forum, we may have to do just that!. I wonder how many members are from the Calgary area?

I was in Kent of Inglewood last Summer (doh! Can't believe its been so long!) and I liked the scent of the No.6 Gin a lot in the tin but didn't pull the trigger because I was buying my straight (doh!! I need to get back to improving my straight skills!).

How do you find the scent strength/duration of the AS? I know I'm off topic but one post won't kill it!

I'd love to see a Calgary wet-shavers meet up set up! Just have to make sure not to show up unshaven... the OUTRAGE!!

I’d say a solid 6-6.5 on the soaps just above average, the AS balm lasts me probably 3-4 hours scent wise but you can feel it on your skin pretty much all day. Nothing too overwhelming but they’re also not transparent the gin by nature is not as bold as some of their other scents
