Is the hollow HD newer? I prefer the heft so I would have still opted for the solid but I'm curious. Not sure I recall seeing the option.

Yes. I don't know how new, but it's new enough to be listed under "New Arrivals", and old enough to be temporarily discounted for last week's "VIP Sale".

Oddly enough, the hole in the handle doesn't continue through to the threaded end. 
It makes a nifty whistle though.

I gotcha. Yeah, I do believe I remember you mentioning that the hollowing doesn't continue through the handle. A razor handle and a whistle. I do love a multitasker!
