Would Island Man be one of the 5 on your list?

Never used it.

Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

I will reiterate my main line of reasoning here for those who seem to not understand me:  the lather has little slickness compared to other, i.e., better IMO, soaps.

SLICKNESSS. Verstand? Entiendes?

Ich verstehe dieses Wort nicht: “Glatte?”

Will comment as somebody famous for bad skin.

While able to get abundant slick and cushioned lather, irrespective of scent, every MdC shave soap variant leaves me dry and irritation slowly builds post shave no matter how many otherwise highly effective postshave products are used (ranging from Speick Intensiv to ABC Apricot Hull to ETHOS custom Skin Foods).

Truth of the matter, am predisposed to favour French brands generally and MdC specifically so any bias works in their favour and do strongly favour their bath soaps.

As a maker that generally likes to pay attention to what the "regular Joe" likes, MdC delivers all that they ask for. While I personally have a serious aversion to mint (in Original) we aspired to lather as well as MdC when we developed our veggie base soap.
"Post shave" is a term we never hear from our non-hobbyist users. And at 200 grams, you're going to get a ton of shaves out of a jar.
Like a few other legacy names, Tabac (tallow), Proraso, MWF, etc. some simple recipes can go on and on for a long time. See the pattern here? I'd bet Frank Dragonsbeard would agree, we'd love to sell a nice fraction of what they do.
When you guys talk about "hype", there's plenty to go around without mentioning any names.

In all fairness Dominic, have a high regard for Tabac (original) and Proraso, particularly given the value proposition. But when one's face becomes increasing dry, red, itchy and broken out in pimples, something amiss - same could be stated of Meissner. Both literally suck the moisture from my skin postshave as though wandering about in the Sahara

You unfortunately have a somewhat rare situation with your skin condition.

I definitely agree with Dominic Dan, you are one in thousands that have ultra sensitive skin. You need maximum skin beneficial ingredients in every phase of your shaving ritual my friend.

Agree wouldn’t we all like to be doing the numbers that any of the companies you mentioned are doing per month. Lol

Haha. I don't have the shave soap, but I'm actually using the bath bar right now. It's a nice one, but I don't know if it would make my top 5 or not.
