But I do have to ask: is Mr. Dangerfield in your memory, too?
Yes sir ... I was young during the 80s (born in 76), but I have definitely seen his movies and am certainly a fan.

I was in college when this came out, up in the UP, about 300 miles from UW-Madison, where many of the outdoor scenes were filmed! It resonated with 22 y/o me! (probably not a good thing!!)

I needed a cheap 24mm brush knot. I didn't really need much else, but since I was going to pay for shipping, I decided to toss in some blades to try.

This time around, I'm going to revisit Dorco blades. I've seen a somewhat recent post by RayClem that the platinum 300 HQ blades (?) are rather good. So, why not try (almost) all of their offerings.

As far as shaving product experiments, this is a super cheap one. Let's just hope it is also a safe one. [Image: 5cccc043d611a325aa9448c35ec191fe.jpg]

I jumped on a handle, as well, from Etsy (Terrafirma Soapery). It's a 26mm spalted Tamrind. This one is stabilized with a bluish green dyed resin. I have a 26mm knot ready for it.

I'm not a huge fan of wood brushes, as I'm worried about long-term upkeep. However, I figure push come to shove, I can probably use some furniture wax polish to protect it. Besides, I just wouldn't be me if I didn't change my mind on any given topic at least three times a day.

Hopefully it looks as nice in person.[Image: 68c4260976a9df505d9d159a5ad0fb28.jpg]

Edit: Added some more of the shots from Etsy, including a mock-up with the knot I have for it. [Image: 6b30c281a71dfd7aeb74aa18bda87f7f.jpg]

Yesterday's mail call and some previous blades haul  Smile

Some good old Polsilver for start.

Two sets of Gentleman's Nod/Zaharoff. I already have both of them, but since they are no longer produced, when the opportunity appeared, I bought a small stock.

EdP Musashi from Gentleman's Nod has joined the soap and aftershave.

Gillette Red Tip in a box. I haven't cleaned it yet, but after initial viewing it looks very good.

And finally, custom made by Turningz by TanZ. With my poor skills, it was difficult to take any good photos, but in real life the brush looks amazing.

I've been looking at some of their wooden handles, I remember seeing that one and really liking the look of it.
I'd be interested to see what you think of the finish when it arrives!
