Mail call from The Stirling Soap Co. While I have one of Rod's and Mandy's excellent shaving soaps, I had not tried their bath soaps so am really looking forward to them. I dislike those shower and bath gels that seem to be so popular now and these soaps gave me an opportunity to try some interesting scents from a quality artisan. The Bay Lime Bath Soap is a free sample that was added to my order and is much appreciated. Thanks ezlovan

I hope the soaps treat you well, Freddy!

Today I got two new DE razor handles from Toby at Triad Razor and some vintage Penhaligon's English Fern aftershave and matching tallow English Fern shaving soaps.

Hi Freddy that looks like a good selection of soaps - I'm also a soap using person and don't care for the gels. Have you tried Stirling's Barbershop scented soap - either shaving or bath? I have both and really like them. I would have said that I wasn't a fan of the traditional "barbershop" scents but Stirling has got me rethinking that whole thing. I also like the shape of the Stirling soaps - as they get smaller they remain a useful size and shape almost to the end unlike traditional soap bars that become a long thin wafer that breaks in half too soon. enjoy.
Marko
Thanks for the tip, Marko. I thought about the barbershop scent, and a couple of others. However, Rod's and Mandy's selection of bath soaps is so big that I had to start off with just a few.
As for the Pre-Shave Oil, it is a bit thicker than what I have been using and have to admit that I would prefer it just a bit thinner. My biggest complaint about it, though, is that there is no effective controller in the opening. Even being very careful, way too much rushed out. All I want is two, three, or four drops to put a thin protective layer on my face. By the time I had what I wanted a bit too much was simply wasted. Having said these things, the pre-shave oil itself is lovely and once I dialed it in it did exactly what I wanted. So ezlovan, is there any chance for a proper flow restrictor on future bottles? What is on the bottle I received really doesn't do anything in that department.
