There is too much play on the plate's posts, so there is no assurance that exposure will be even on both sides unless extreme care is taken to center it before dropping the cap. The magnet is way too strong to allow any adjustment once the cap is anywhere near the plate. It's an aggressive shave even with even exposure but not in a good way. There are smooth and efficient razors, this is not one of them. There's lots of what people call chatter and easy to skip and nick yourself. Or myself at least. I did get a close shave but did not enjoy the experience a bit . Oh and the blade will sometimes stick in the cap and is a bitch to remove. Mag-T has a 10 day refund policy which applies only if the razor is unused. Lolz.

I finished with the vowel-less Chinese magnetic adjustable thing (SMNRN??) which does things right.[Image: c7fdf0758f4ce255be29ba879b83dcb9.jpg]

From the looks of the finish on it in the pic, I would have just sent it back. They should be embarrassed to sell it like that......

I couldn't agree with Dave in KY more.  That thing looks like it is a used 50 year old razor that the previous owner never bothered to take good care of.

Very odd, but I am not surprised. My first Mag-T, the Delta, had a rough finish on the sides of the cap. When I received my Alpha, the finish was very well done (see my pics). I guess they are still having problems with quality control.

As for the shave, I just followed the angle of the cap and let the weight of the razor do the shaving. When done right, the guard barely touches your face. Yes, the magnets are very overkill compared to the SMNRIN, and there is enough play in the guide pins to allow slight misalignment, however the blade is held very tight and I did not have a problem with bad shaves. As for removing the blade, I learned from the original Delta that you grasp both sides of the head and rotate it toward one side guard instead of lifting one side up.

I just shaved with it last night and again came up with an extremely close shave.

I think it's pretty silly in summary.

Mine may be out of whack somehow but I'm quite used to difficult and aggressive razors and this is among the least enjoyed (if close) shaves I've ever endured.

I shaved today with my lovely 3pc OC silver Wardonia, which cost less than the Mag-T , and somehow managed a perfect , comfortable BBS as close as the MAG-T without a magnet. How the blade stays put in the razor , is perfectly aligned, and is easily installed and removed I guess is just magic.[Image: fef46082cf22564f345ca308a4507c4a.jpg]

Received the Mag T (teak wood handle) today.  I wouldn't even waste a picture. This thing is a piece a junk. A total waste of money. The head's chrome finish is terrible and  the teak handle is sticky. I think they tried to put a protective finish on it but little do they know teak does need it. When I put the blade on the bottom cap and put the top cap on slowly no matter how many times I tried I got uneven blade alignment. The only way to do this is by moving the top cap slowly until it lines up. All just to shave. I am not sure I will use it but definitely not sending it back. I woudn't even attempt to give it away for free as I don't trust the set up.
Recommendation: Don't buy it

Sent the razor back for a refund. But I kept the Mag T badger brush which although small works pretty good.

I just started using the Henson Al Medium product, and it is awesome! It looks a little intimidating, but it is very effective and easier to use than a straight razor. The Safety razor itself is pretty heavy-duty and has a nice weight to it. I have never used one of these before and I haven't cut myself with it yet!
