Gentlemen - What have been your experiences and impressions of the MacDuff's aftershave splash?  Thanks

I find most, if not all alcohol free aftershaves leaves my skin feeling sticky for 30 minutes or so.  This includes MacDuff's aftershaves.  Once you get past that part I really like MacDuff's aftershaves.

Just to add on to the experience with MacDuff's aftershaves: When first starting out with MacDuff's aftershaves, I experienced a "tacky" or somewhat sticky sensation post application. I ended up making two small adjustments to counteract that. The first adjustment was to make sure I applied the aftershave while some residual moisture was visible on my face. I assume you could accomplish the equivalent by diluting the aftershave in hand, with a few drops of water. I also reduced the total amount of aftershave applied. It has become an ingrained habit at this point, so I am not even sure by how much. But, I can say that I am nearly through a tub of a MacDuff's soap  and have 3/4 of the matching aftershave remaining. None of these adjustments seem to impact post care benefits, and I have come to enjoy MacDuff's aftershave formulation.

As AlphaFrank75 mentioned, I also find most non alcohol based aftershaves have a tendency to impart some level of initial "tackiness" or residual "weight" on the skin. But it does dissipate in a relatively short amount of time.

You bring up a good point. I should have been more precise with my earlier description. I should have written: my general awareness of the tackiness (without touching my face) fades quickly. But if I actually touched my beard area later on, I suspect it could still feel tacky to the touch.

I realize that may not be the case for everyone. And others may continue to have an awareness of the tackiness, regardless of actually inspecting their beard region by touch.

Rather than a peculiar practice, what you describe above is daily routine to me: whether they’re toners, AS, balms, alcoholic or not, I never apply any post-shave product on completely dry skin. Small amounts are also a general must for me.
As for MacDuff's aftershave specifically, I really don't remember any particular issue, even on my oily skin.

My last day of Christmas in July so I ended it where I began with Christmas Cabin.  I haven't tried all the available Christmas holidays soaps that can be found, but after acquiring most of MacDuff's offerings, I have no reason to look elsewhere.
