I've been using my EJ head lately, alternating between the Kelvin handle (which is a good weight for me, but too short) and my Maggard MR18c, which is a great shape (long & narrow, good knurling) but heavier than I like.

I'm interested in finding something long, thin, & light, but don't want to spend more than ~$20. Thinking of buying a cheapo razor just for the handle. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestion. They look to be mostly stainless (i.e. heavy), though a few are unspecified materials.

I just came across & ordered a Maggard MR14 (aluminum) handle, we'll see how that goes.

That's funny, I was going to suggest that one but I didn't know if it would meet your length requirement.

Well, it's a good deal closer in length to the MR18 than it is to my EJ Kelvin handle...

Tried the MR14 last night. Good weight, good length, a bit fat, could use more surface texture. Not hard to hold, but a bit hard for my stubby fingers to rotate (when switching blade sides).

This is why I love titanium handles. Stainless is too heavy and aluminum is too light. Too bad the damn things are expensive.

The Maggard MR20 was a nice stainless 50 gram handle for cheap, but it looks like it's discontinued.

Yeah, I was the one who got them to correct it from "out of stock" to "discontinued" on the website after asking when it would be back in stock.

That said, I think the MR14 is closer to the weight I'm looking for even than the MR20 (or MR1, which weighs the same but is shorter). Just wish it was thinner and/or grippier.
