I took a chance and bought 100 Lord Silver Star blades from Amazon Prime because the price of $8 was too much to resist. I've always been kind of not impressed with most Lord blades I've used ( Lord Platinum, Shark SS, and Shark SC ). Not that they were bad, but that they were just usually average.
The Silver Star appears to be a cut above those. I've had 4 very good, close, and uneventful shaves with the first blade I've used. It's been a good cutter in my Slim Adjustable at a variety of settings, and now I'm just seeing if I can get the 5-7 smooth shaves I like to see in my other high-use blades.
My impression so far is that this is a sharper than average blade, but still retains smoothness as well. It is well behaved in so far as I haven't nicked myself, had any weepers, or had any inordinate skin aggravation from it. It reminds me a lot of a Gillette Yellow Sharpedge, but with a tad more comfort. I like the Sharpedge a lot, but I am always aware later in the day I've shaved with a sharp blade, and I am not getting this small amount of discomfort from the Silver Star.
