Good afternoon, I hope that everyone is safe and staying healthy during these trying times. I a looking for some advice. I am relatively new to DFS and have found this to be a great resource, and I will thank you up front for your advice.
I have become a big fan of Cutting Edge Shave Soaps and my original T&F 1805. I tried the Grooming Department Otium and while I liked the shave, the scent was overpowering.

The challenge is that with many of these artisanal brands, which I like to support, typically don't describe how strong the scent is.

I struggle with strongly scented products, and I am hoping that I can get some guidance from this group on brands and soaps that you have used that are "Lightly" scented.

I understand that I can get "unscented' soaps, but I like the Bergamot top notes and citrus notes that these lightly scented soaps can offer.

Thank you for your help and I am looking forward to your thoughts.

That is a tough one as those that like scent tend to REALLY like scent haha.

ETHOS is committed to making natural or high quality scented soaps. As a result, when they made a citrus scented soap, Melange dAgrumes, they lost a lot of scent in the process.  As a consequence, they felt the need to include a bottle of scent with each soap purchase to account for the general preference for stronger scents. Suggest that if you tried this without adding the additional scent, it would be exactly what you’re seeking. Of course you could always dial up the scent volume if desired.  In addition, you would get the best soap base on the market. PM me if you want details

Received a PM asking about the ETHOS’ scent. Just to clarify it is created using essential oil blend, not cheap synthetics. The quality is immediately apparent.

Right there you have two great brands... SIR Henry's and Ethos. Both vendors are quite active here for any questions, concerns, etc..

Hmm, I'm having trouble thinking of anything else. I know Haslinger's is a very light, but still existing, scent. It's been a long time since I tried them, and it was only one scent, so I can't speak to the quality of the shave.

A soap like Mitchell's Wool Fat has a mild, soap smell.  If you could find some of the Obsessive Soap Perfectionist soaps I found the Bay rum and the Sandalwood soaps to be so mildly scented as to be indistinguishable .  I've also found the Cold River Soap Works to be mildly scented as well.

TOBS Jermyn Street, Mitchell's Wool Fat, Haslinger, and Pre de Provence are all soaps that I would consider lightly scented in comparison to most of my artisan soaps.
