Top soaps for me are Saponificio Varesino, B&M and CRSW - to name three. Absolutely top-tier soaps (and splashes).

I'm also quite impressed with Through the Fire Fine Craft and Dapper Dragon lately. Chiseled Face, Mickey Lee Soapworks, Dr. Jon's... Also really good.

I'm sure I already replied to this thread but as of now my top 5 would be (in no particular order) Barrister_N_Mann, Mickey_Lee, Dr. Jon's, DapperDragon and TTFFC.

So many great soap makers out there it is hard to choose just 1.

I Coloniali is the first one that comes to mind.

At the moment I have been very impressed with P&B soaps, incredible lather quality.Sanskrit is my top scent.

B&M new glisant formula is another honorable mention.

Been keeping an eye on this thread for a while, and have tallied up the choices so far.

Now, the original direction given was: “If you could only choose one, what would it be?” I completely understand that it is difficult to pick just one brand, but that was the question. There were 19 forum members who did not pick just single soap brand — they would mention one U.S. soap and one European, or a commercial soap and an artisan, or several of their favorites, etc. I did not count any of these, since there was no clear single choice.

However, I did count the ones who had runners up, since they did designate a clear “number one” in addition to their honorable mentions.

One member made one choice and then changed it to another later, so I dropped the original choice and added the new one. My own vote goes to Stirling Soap Company at this point, as they have a great selection of soaps, and every one that I’ve tried has worked marvelously for me.

I’ll try to keep track of these from here on out, and if there is a lot of activity on the thread, I’ll post a revised list after a while. I hope that’s OK, TSEvangelist.

Anyway, in alphabetical order, here are the votes as they stand right now:
Acqua di Parma: 1
Barrister and Mann: 23
Beaver WoodWright: 1
Catie’s Bubbles: 3
Cold River Soap Works: 9
Czech & Speake: 1
Haslinger: 1
I Coloniali: 1
JabonMan: 1
The Los Angeles Shaving Soap Company: 1
Martin de Candre: 2
Mike’s Natural Soaps: 1
Mystic Water Soap: 4
PannaCrema: 3
Reef Point: 2
Sapone Di Paolo: 1
Saponificio Varesino: 2
Savonnerie du bon berger (SdV — Menthe): 1
Soap Commander: 1
Soapy Bathman: 2
Stirling Soap Company: 6
Strop Shoppe: 2
Tabac: 1
Tabula Rasa: 1
Valobra (hard puck — C&S/AoS): 2
XPEC: 1

Choosing one brand it would have to be PannaCrema as the Nuavia soaps are the very best I've tried and the Pure2O are my third best.

Sudsy Soapery is another brand that I could use every day and not feel as though I'm missing out as they are firmly sitting in the number two spot.

PannaCrema Nuavia Blu e Rossa and Martin de Candre hands down. But honestly, I'd have to add Mystic Water, Saponificio Verisino, CRSW and Catie's Bubbles to that list too. Wink

Right now I am torn between B&M Latha and L&L Grooming Bison Tallow formulas. Both of these soaps are the best soaps I have ever used. Simply incredible performance.

Mixing creams and soaps (e.g., xpec is a cream) but since Matsilainen is tracking

#1 SMN
#2 ADP
#3 PC Nuavia

BTW, I tried something similar elsewhere and was admonished that it was a meaningless poll since most people do not try everything. But there you go.
