Today I worked on the handles, the idea was to bring a more sophisticated design while keeping simple lines and identical length and diameter.

The handles will now be cut in three zones, the two upper ones will have customizable patterns, the lower part will remain blank to keep good assembly tolerances with the razor holder.
I also added small ergos between each area to increase the grip.

After a tour on the machine here are my first two prototypes.

Your new handle looks better. And more complex.

I attached the links of artisans which have nice handles in my opinion:

My first shave was with the 1.0 mm SS razor; my second shave with the 0.8 mm Ti: in two days I will shave with the 1.2 mm brass razor.  So far, two excellent shaves.  I am singularly impressed with the secureness of the blade vice; no blade chatter is possible on these razors.  Job well done.  The handle does not feel comfortable in my hand however, so I chose to use my own handles.  I hope you do not take offense.  Within the next month I will buy one; most likely the SS in 1.0 mm.  I will be ready to ship it out to the next participant (CK89 I believe) on Monday the 19th.  I will write one more short review after using the 1.2, probably on Saturday.
Good health and good shaves to you all.

Yesterday I shaved with the brass 1.2 razor, using a new Feather blade.  It was expectedly more efficient than the previous two, but just as smooth.  Most of the shaves have been with the safety bar side, as I don't favor open combs.  All these shaves have been face lathered using Tabac shave soap and a boar brush.

Tomorrow I will do a second and last shave with the SS 1.0 razor; the razor I like best, and am most likely to buy from Atelier DURDAN .  These are excellent razors, by design, manufacture, and finish.  I will be sending them on to the next participant on Monday.  My thanks to Augustin for making this pass-around possible.  Bonjour.

Now it's time to work on the razor head, the objectives are as follows:
- Installation of the blade centering pins on the flat base
- Modification of the lower part of the flat base for less machining trace and a simplified polishing
- Identical cutting angle and blade exposure
- General design identical to the old version

The centering pins will protrude 1mm to allow the centering of the blade before clamping
[Image: J6O23ul.png]
This modification will simplify the polishing steps while designing the same clamping surface. A Made in France engraving will also be added on this face.
Finally, this last transformation of the lower part of the flat base allows both the covering of the centering studs and a reduction of the machining marks.

Here is the first prototype tested on the spot in the workshop!
