I'm looking for a fragrance to use when I shave with my MDC Original and Chatillon Lux Champs de Lavande aftershave. I greatly enjoy both but I'm looking for a complimentary scent that has some lavender in it but more in the background and not quite so flowery. Something with some amber, oakmoss and leather would be nice. I want the lavender in there but I'm trying to avoid the flowery Fougere type scents. Any help is appreciated

Hi,
Have you tried Chatillon Lux Lavande Poivre Eau de Toilette? Lavender, as the name suggests, is there but definitely in the background. I really like it and use it after a pure lavender shave when I want to tone down the lavender sweetness.
I don't have the aftershave so perhaps Shawn (hawns) could chime in with his thoughts of the complementary properties of his Champs de Lavande Aftershave with the Lavande Poivre Eau de Toilette.
B&M Just Right for a Tuesday might fit the bill. It is quite nice. See the description below from B&M's website:
It started with a conversation.
"I find myself reaching into my shave den and reading the notes for, say, Hallows, Leviathan, or Night Music and going, ‘Well that’s lovely, but just a bit much for a Tuesday.’"
We gave this some thought. Okay, a LOT of thought. And then we had an idea.
"Perhaps we should make a scent called 'Just Right for a Tuesday.’"
Thus was born the concept for a light, crisp fragrance that’s at home anywhere. One perfect for the office, for a luxurious gala, or for anything in between. Partly inspired by the gloriously refined powerhouse violets of the Roaring 20s, Just Right for a Tuesday is plush but surprisingly light. A perfumed glove for the aristocrat in all of us.
Open
Green Fig, Black Pepper, Lavender, Nutmeg
Heart
Violet, Iris, Rose, Allspice
Base
Vetiver, Benzoin, Rose, Ambergris Tincture

Hello,
I have not tried that scent but I was looking at it earlier. It didn't sound too floral which is what I'm wanting. I think I'll order a sample to try. Thank you for the recommendation

This one looks intriguing. The notes in the heart are a little concerning simply because it's mostly floral but the rest sounds good. I might need to get a sample of this one too. Thank you

They were definitely designed to be of the same ilk, it's just that Champs de Lavande is a formula that works well in an aftershave concentration but not so much at a higher concentration. So I used many of the same elements and gave them more depth and vibrancy.
